I love the Mondaine pictured above.
But for me it would probably be my IWC Mark XX or my Laco Augsburg - because for me the flieger design is the ultimate in simplicity and legibility.
(Although I am clearly going through a "boring watches are best" phase...)
It is a Kano and a great looking watch.
The only downside is that the accuracy is a bit crap.
After buying it I realised that I can only purchase quite expensive mechanicals - because I can't deal with a watch gaining 20 seconds per day. (And sometimes 30 or 40 spd.)
You can of course get lucky. I didn't. So while I don't regret buying my Kano, it's value was as a warning, rather than as a watch I cherish.
I hope you have a better time keeping experience!
I would say consider Mido too.
Also, make sure you are buying in a shop - not online. In photos the Tissot Seastar looks great. In the metal, to me, it looks out of proportion. The dial is too big compared to the bezel. Just my opinion, others will differ
Love the Mont Blanc! I have the Boheme fountain pen, which is a little small in the hand but has a lovely mechanism where the nib retracts. I don't think they make them any more - or at least you certainly can't buy them in Malaysia now.
Lovely! My quartz Aquaracer is my daily beater for swimming, cycling and tennis. Never any problems with it. And it's the only watch I've been complimented on by non-watch people 😂
Sure! Although I'd be more specific. I think the Pelagos 39 is the one that matches or replaces it the most - that old comment about "what the sub of yesterday would be today" has something in it.
But the black Pelagos OG may make you think about the sub, "why would I want something so blingy and slightly obvious instead?"
As the owner of that watch I can say that if someone said to me now, "you can have any Rolex you want", I would not choose the sub. Although a few years ago I was mad to get one, I understand the desire. (Final point: they photograph so well that IMO they are rather disappointing when you view a real one.)
