I think Tudor does Bronze the best, so if you want a bronze watch (disagree it’s a fad, been around too long for that) and you don’t want to go too heavy into a single brand, then I’d say keep the bronze as the best version of that you can get, then get alternatives for the others (like a railmaster and explorer 2).
Can get some great deals on the Oris out there too. I like the blue dial on a leather strap, or the green dial in the bronze version on leather pretty killer too.
Currently rocking the Tudor heritage, but have a new bronze on the way - the Oris big crown. Planning on another diver, and realized I need a date function, so once I confirm the Oris in person looks as good as the picture I’ll put the Tudor up for sale.
This 43mm Tudor isn’t too big, but I was wearing it with a lot of dress sleeves and think a little smaller might be better for me too.
Had to keep a bronze though, love the look and story the patina tells.
Unless you need the real moon phase for a hobby or something, no need for it to be correct besides personal neuroses - and at that point it is literally just there as a decoration piece.
Hope to add one someday but won’t be a daily, so fully intend to set time/date and be on my way.
Just went through this with my first luxury watch, a TAG Carrera 01 that I bought on Watchboxx for $4400, thinking I’d have it forever.
After a few years I wasn’t wearing it nearly as often, and felt guilty for it just sitting there.
Just sold on eBay for about $3k so I don’t feel guilty anymore, and more easily justify adding a new one so my wife doesn’t freak out lol.
$1400 to “rent” a watch for 5 years, not bad
