TOP 5 KEEPERS

Most of us have a number of watches, many of whom never see much wrist time.  I have thought often about paring down to 5 watches, and boy is it tough.  But I keep on going.  So.....

What are your top 5 forever lifetime most dearest sweetest pieces?

  1. Datejust that was a gift from my wife
  2.  Speedmaster

Thats it really. I have other watches, but those are the two I’ll never sell. Honestly, I’ll probably never sell any of my watches, but those are the only ones I’d Be real disappointed to part with.

  1.  Marathon GSAR Grey Maple, it's my ideal tool diver.

  1.  CW C63 Auto, my dressy "everyday" watch.

3. Marathon Navigator, my grab-and-go quartz.

4.  Damasko DS30, the other "everyday" watch, but on the more "toolish" side of things.

5.  Timex Expedition, it's the model of what that got me hooked on watches.

I realized a couple of years into flipping that I probably wasn't going to keep anything forever that I bought myself.

If it was a gift, it stays.  My $, it's just passing through.

·

These 5 for me. I’m no where near my watchbox so I can’t do a group photo. (and just why exactly do I keep all of the rest???)

I'm not sure about five, but these three are making me think I may have a bunch of obsolete watches. Luckily (?) I'll feel the same way about three different ones tomorrow...

You’re right. I do have taste. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Just kidding. But I’ve forced myself to not buy so many watches and be patient for these few.

You have chosen quite well.  Are they in any particular order?

My watch collection is still growing, but here goes:

  1.  Hamilton Khaki Field King, 40mm, champagne dial, brown leather strap
  2.  Hemel HFT20, USAF edition, 42mm, black dial, cognac leather strap
  3.  Lum-Tec G-10, 45mm, black & pink dial, black leather strap
  4.  Casio Pro Trek, PRW-2500, 53mm, digital, black
  5.  Vostock Amphibia, 41mm, blue dial, orange resin strap
·

Yes I had this watch too. But let it go to help fund a Sinn 875 UTC. Which I am wearing right now and love to death.

But I do regret giving up the Seamaster. Would love to replace it , possibly with the green dial or a black dial. Though I always go with the black option so probably the green would be the better bet for my collection.

·

Dang! Nice collection!

I’m still building up my collection, but I know for a fact that I’ll forever keep my Grandfather’s 1952 Longines given to him by my grandmother for Christmas, given to me by my mother for my 40th birthday... I also have a Timex Ironman that I ran the NYC Marathon in, and a Victorinox I wore in Afghanistan. Can’t get rid of those two either. I’m planning on a milestone purchase in 2 years so whatever that will be I want to be a family heirloom that I pass down (still torn between a Moonwatch, an Explorer II or a BB Pro).
