Which brand provides the best or most interesting watch boxes?

Hi there!

Been collecting watches for a few years and oddly one of the things that I look forward to when buying a watch is the packaging/watch box that it comes with. I love to see what materials, shapes and designs that the watch brand would come up with. Atm one of my favorites is the IWC box. The box comes with a leather watch pouch that is great for traveling and looks sleek imo.

Much better than the old IWC box which is rubber coated and it would get sticky in humid countries.

But the old box does include some small touches that make it pretty intuitive, such as the small elastic band that can hold the bracelet adjustment tools.

Love the Longines wooden watch box too as it looks really nice and elegant. Very simple box and nothing really special about it.

Additionally the Tudor box is also a very simple box too, with a very nice texture with plenty of felt lining on the inside and a nice compartment for your bracelet/bracelet links.

There are some unique ones that I’ve discovered as I collect more watches from different watch brands. Such as zerootime. The watch box for the M1 comes in a book like shape.

I could go on and on but these are just some of the ones that I own. What are you favourite ones and which ones surprised you at the presentation of the watch?

That longines wooden box is gorgeous! I too love the little packaging touches a company provides! The Citizen promasters have had some interesting boxes especially. No doubt not of the highest quality, but as for design they are very cool:

For an affordable brand Malm watches make a great box.

A nice wooden box with the card, instruction booklet, cloth and tool under the cushion.

A fun one is the Citizen Promaster. A fake Scuba tank.

The big wooden Omega box is pretty impressive, tho the Speedmaster Moonwatch would get my vote.

I like a good box but it seems all a bit wasteful unless you’re planning on gifting or reselling your watch. All my boxes live uncomfortably collecting dust bunnies. The watches themselves live in my watch box.

Agreed, which is why I love the IWC watch box as it doubles as a travel pouch too.

The Speedy Pro box is nice, interesting, and has a watch case integrated into it.

·

I like baltic's with their cork Accent. Quite fancy for a microbrand

·

I 100% agree with you about the older IWC boxes from the 2000s they’d completely disintegrate. Many other watch brands/boxes that I have from the year 2000 are still holding up very well Cartier, Rolex.

I like the citizen, unimatic, and omega speedmaster boxes the most.

Some cool stuff out there!

My Gshock Bamford had a pretty good box

The right centre section is removable. I understand a few of these boxes have been appropriated by partners for their trinkets - I've kept mine to one side.

Perhaps I have never experienced the luxury of space having always resided in downtown neigbourhoods that some call Concrete Jungles but I find the presentation boxes to be cumbersome, a superfluity that houses an object many consider to be already redundant. I will not trash the boxes in the same manner that my friend M did when he moved into his 3 bedroom luxury rental after selling his upmarket condo but the boxes do not excite me in the same manner that some cheap frivolous packing of candies or other products from a memorable trip does. In fact I left the packing from my two most recent watch purchases with my ad until my wife reminded me of my previous bad habits and reluctantly carried the weighty parcels home after a too long period.

I intend to move most of the watches that I wear into this carry case lightweight sturdy with a handle

The San Martin green leather box is quite nice and handy since you can use it as a travel watch box!

Brew watches come in a very nice travel roll. Already my go-to case for travel. #brewwatches

Im def of the opinion that watch boxes, in general are just a waste of space. Take Rolex boxes for example, just so pointless and cheap. The watches are great, the boxes? Generic and pointless (unless its the super high end Rolexs). The IWC cases are actually great, the pouch is cubic so it can be stacked or be stable and also includes a hidden storage within the pillow.

·

I have an unpopular opinion I am sure, but I am buying a watch not a box, and could not care less about the box. Frankly, if a manufacturer spends less on the fancy box, maybe the price of the watch could be less.

The leather travel pouch is great. Would be happy to get a watch with that.

My boxes live in the garage, happily have I have that extra space, unlike many in this 5 million dollar per house city.

My Kurono came with some interesting silk creations, and a more eco friendly box. Other than that, all of mine are quite standard for mid tier watches.
