Watch shopping with my fiancée. (Japan Winter special) Seiko, Longines, Tag Heuer

Hi watchcruch community,

Recently my fiancee was contemplating a simple ladies watch. She wanted one that was small but is open to bigger sizes too if it felt right.

In my mind, I have the perfect watch to get her, but that is probably somewhere later in our lives.

It’s this IWC Portofino. It just felt perfect when she tried it on and I knew that someday, I would love to gift her that watch.

For this shopping trip though, we’re looking at something less blingy and that won’t break the bank.

I actually had the Longines Spirit 37mm on the leather strap in mind for her.

We only managed to try it on the bracelet which was indeed too big for her.

I think she can pull off the watch with a strap but we couldn’t get hands on with it. Also, she said that it didn’t really give her that strong desire to own it feeling when she put it on.

So we moved on to Tag Heuer and their new 36mm Carreras.

It actually fits her pretty well but she was not really feeling it. The dial options are decent and it looks really good in hand imo.

Next up while looking at the Grand Seiko section, it was actually the Seiko display next to it that caught her attention.

Some nice looking pieces but ultimately these two caught her eye:

They’re the winter Limited Edition series from Seiko.

She tried them both on and loved both of them. But she couldn’t decide on which watch she wants. So we left the store and decided to think about it and head back the next day.

Ultimately, she decided on the Silver/Gold model.

It’s a beautiful piece and I think it’s a fun piece too in the spirit of the winter season.

There were some other pieces that we looked at too but I only posted the ones that stood out for her. As we continued shopping, I realized that she gravitated towards the watches that were 30mm and below in terms of size. Something different for her as her current watch is 36mm.
