You can’t fake meteorite, the shape & structure is very unique. Even trying to etch a standard metal won’t give convincing results.
Contrary to what @Chronologics said, they’re surprisingly common, an eBay search will prove that. I have a spinning top made from it. While pricing is a little steep buying via ebay & buying an intact example even more expensive, you would get quite a few pieces from a good sized slice, especially if you can wire cut it thinner.
