Duration of Watch worn.

I was just randomly curious.

Sometimes when I’m going through my collections normal rotation daily I will sometimes randomly hit periods where I will wear the same watch for a week straight and other times where I will switch out a watch everyday for about a month or two.

I was just curious if anyone else has the same random patterns?

Totally normal. It all about mood you in & the feel of the watch. Thus the limitless possibilities of watch collection

·

There's some watches that are so comfortable that you just decide to give the watch some extra days.

·

I wear whatever I feel like that day. Sometimes it’s what I wore yesterday, sometimes not.

No doubt some people have schedules. To me that would take watches from an enjoyable pastime to an imposition. If you feel pressured to wear this or that watch, maybe it’s time to rethink the collection.

·

I randomize a list of my collection, checking off each watch from the list as I wear it. Then when I've worn all of them, I make a new random list. This forces me to wear all my watches.

·

I tried sticking to a schedule to even out wear but it becomes admin rather than enjoyment! I mainly change daily or more than, but occasionally the same one is worn.

“There's no rhyme or reason to this life. It's days like today scattered among the rest.” /Marcus in John Wick.

He might as well be describing my philosophy for picking a watch in the morning.

·

The WRUW here at the crunch helps me rotate my watches everyday 😎

It is true though that sometimes during the day I might look for a watch that makes me feel more comfortable when at home, working in the garden or playing with my daughter. You can change watches during the day and shouldn’t feel any stress changing if you don’t feel like it. There are no rules just your own!

The longest that I have any one watch on includes a few hours of sleep, plus the early morning hours each day that I wait for the Mrs to wake for our morning coffees. When I was working the daily grind the watch I picked for the day depended on my planned schedules and who I would encounter: my 48mm Breitling Super Avenger was an imperative when I had to deal with a few much older guys because it just seem to bother them for zero reasons( like all the gits on YouTube who slammed the brand, and you could tell they had no first hand experience with the watches), some days I would wear a certain watch that I knew was totally under the radar, I wear my watches for myself and do not need comments from persons just making noise. I have a good friend who is an in demand sushi chef presently working in London England, huge watch guy as is his aged dad, if I am meeting him, will slip on a watch that we can discuss over a fast lunch. When I head out with the Mrs, I could strap on a Mickey Mouse wall clock and she would not notice or care. However she is watching; I don’t comment on the shoe museum she created when our younger daughter moved out but I am clever enough to still make some positive remarks about her designer runners the appearance blurrs in my addled mind. I remove whatever timepiece I have on when I am cooking dinners. Recently she picked up my GS White Birch placing it where it would be out of harm’s way. I pretended to be casual saying it is just a Seiko. She shot me a dirty look and said that she didn’t fall off a turnip truck! Just to be extra mean she added that lately I was over salting my cooking but she didn’t want to be critical. I take as much pride with my cooking as I do with my watches.

About the same with me, you are not alone..

·

I do not have a rotation I kind of go with just what I'm in the mood for that day. Sometimes I match my watch to my outfit but I'm more likely to just put something on that I just want to wear.

Depending on the day and activities I might change watches two, three, maybe four times

Yea also if you spend a month with a watch and have a full watch box and take care of each piece it’s like getting a new watch every month if you allow you self to appreciate your collection to that degree!

Scheduling wearing a watch would be so strange unless of course your doing a one Watch challenge 🤣

Interesting!

If you look at it in a game type of fashion that can also make it fun if you enjoy the challenge. Thanks for sharing!

For the past year my goal has been to wear a different watch everyday. However there's been a few times I wore the same watch for multiple days. Just trying to keep it fresh, I wore the same watch for 7 years.

·

Generally switch every day like underwear

Generally switch every day like underwear

That’s Awsome for the watches. Necessary for the underwear! 🤣

Wear what peaks your interest that day rule 1 rule 2 and rule 3

That is how you know which are keepers and which are not😉

·

Not really, personally. There are watches I wear more often than others, and if I'm extra happy with a new purchase I might wear it back to back the first couple of times. But otherwise, I don't like to repeat a watch in a given week or two.

·

Sometimes more than a week. It's just when I start thinking, This could be my only watch, that I get the urge to switch.

Wow 7 years. That commitment. That’s a great goal you have adapted. Thanks for sharing!

Same here. Some days it's a different watch a day...some months it's the same watch for 30 days straight.

·

I did that 1 watch challenge for a few months (Yes, it was horrid.) ..

Image

..and when it ended I went berserk and swapped watches several times a day for a week or so 😂.

Since then it’s more like 1 per day ☺

·

Don’t overthink it . I enjoy winding and setting the six watches in my watch box to the quartz watches ( two of them ) so I can guage which ones run fast or slow compared to the quartz and then pick one to wear based on how I feel . I don’t do this every day but I get in a mood sometimes to do this . I find it relaxing 😎

·

I typically find myself going a week straight with one watch, then out of nowhere switching daily. Though my Omega is out of commission until i get a link in the bracelet.

·

Up until my most recent Tudor GMT acquisition, I would wear several watches every day unless I was traveling for work. The Tudor GMT has the opaline dial which is a great Summer watch. Prior to getting the Tudor, I would trade my watch sometimes multiple times per day.

·

I try to cycle through my collection evenly, but it goes without saying that there are, of course, some watches I like more than others. A great example would be my OceanX GMT; despite the fact that its accuracy is disastrous (like, around +25 secs. a day!!), I just like the look and feel on my wrist and enjoy wearing it even over several days/weeks. Same goes for my PRX, although I try to protect it a bit more than my other watches since it's my only "real" swiss piece.
