Watch & Car Pairings?

I've spent the day tinkering with a 1985 Ex Military Land Rover while wearing my late 1984 Ex Military CWC G10 and it got me thinking, the two are a perfect match!

It's got me wondering if anyone has unintentionally, or otherwise, matched their watch to their car? I know there are people out there who's problem is just as bad as mine!

Would be wrong not to have at least tried! Bet you had some interesting stories associated with that watch too

Right the first time! It's a 110 FFR, spent most of its life in Germany with the 21 SIG REGT. Just getting it back together after having the bulkhead sorted as it was riddled with holes!

·

Thats hilarious,,i was a mechanic in the REME,, attached to 28 sigs in Krefeld for 3yrs ., I might've worked on that 😂😂

·

No way! Talk about a small world, I've got you to blame for all the mismatched fasteners then! 😂 I spent a little bit of time with the REME at Lyneham but decided I was better suited to civvie street - seemed like a great life though

Swatch and a 3rd Gen 4 Runner? They looked kinda good together the day I took the pic, good thread to post, thanks!

Love the matchy matchy black, looks like you've got some serious bar work there too - despite my LR allegiance I can definitely still appreciate a toyota like that!

That dial pairs a treat! Had to stop myself buying a merc of that generation a few times too - just as luxurious as the Rolex any day

I bet! I've got an alarming habit of taking on projects and its that sort of enabling attitude that'll get me bankrupt! 😂Will definitely need something wafty and German in my life one day though

I like everything in original condition with box and papers! 😜🍻

·

Thank you, kind Sir. We have similar tastes! 🍻🤩

·

That’s a great pairing you have there. I’m a petrolhead, so many of my watches are paired with my passion for cars rather than specific models; Monacos, Chopard Mille Miglia, Autodromo, Omologato, Speedmaster, and flyback chronos from Tudor and Farer. A CWard Dartmouth II, CWC G10 and SBS are also in my collection, as my family has military and naval history. Any links to justify new watches, I use them!

·

I have a 1976 Datsun 260Z which I used to link with my cheap Chinese Paulareiss Monaco homage. Watch now sold, Datsun still with me.

·

What pairs best with a white 911 Targa? I think something with a white dial, to start...

Sweet Rover!!!!

240&260 are the best!!!

I think I’m about the worst in terms of watch/car pairings, my taste in watches is way more expensive than my taste in cars 😅

The most expensive watch in my collection currently is alone about 70% of what I paid for my current daily driver. Feel like that’s a pretty silly cost ratio for most people.

Definitely 👌dropped it once changing oil,an one scratch making a brew for the rest of the garage monkeys 🤣

·

Appreciated, kind Sir! 🥂🍾

·

The car collection will not fit in one pic! 🤷🏽‍♂️

I hope the the G10 is more reliable than the Landy?

Considerably!! Not that that's saying much though 😂

The watch and cars that get paired most frequently are an Explorer and one of my off roading Jeeps.

Glamping? Perhaps a little.

Utterly reliable, can't be beat! Looks like a thoroughly good time

Closest I could find on my phone 😂

Will take a better one and replace this is it's sunny

Already looks to be a spot on match aesthetically 👌

Which era? My mind immediately went 7a28 for some reason:

As long as you dont find any insulation tape round a leaky hydraulic pipe your doing well 😂😂😂

·

No, no, no, this is all wrong! You match your CAR to your watch.
