It finally happened

It is with mixed feelings that I report it finally happened.

After a little over 2 years someone outside my immediate circle of family and close friends noticed my Omega Seamaster 300 Heritage and complimented it.

The shirt cuff is to blame. One button is a little to tight and show the watch off and the other button is too loose and floppy.

For me the deciding factor between the Seamaster Diver 300M and the Seamaster 300 Heritage was that the latter seemed more reserved and a bit under the radar.

I take some solace in the fact that it's the same coworker that complimented my Citizen Star Wars Ecodrive and he didn't seem to know the Omega was a luxury piece.

Don't beat yourself up over this. It's not your fault.

Nice! The only compliments I get on my watches is when it’s noticed on my wrist by a sales person in a watch store. Watch sales people are usually collectors too. In the wild, almost never.

·

I only get compliments from Crunchers. No one else cares 🤪

·

I'm pretty sure our watches gets noticed more often than we think but no one talks about it.

·

Interesting. Since almost nobody notices watches why do so many people buy watches to show people they can afford expensive watches?

The watch salesperson wants to know how much effort to spend on you.

🤣 You mean they weren’t really genuine? I feel deceived :(

·

I love your watch :) it’s my favourite Omega bezel watch . If someone notices your watch they may be turning …… 😜

·

To say or not to say, what is the etiquette with strangers in the wild?

·

It’s a beautiful watch. IYKYK, right?

I don't have a good answer to that one. Usually I don't say anything but I'm a pretty reserved person.

If you want your watch to be invisible to the masses, wear it on a black nato or rubber strap. Invisibility cloak engaged

The only watch compliment I ever got was at a mom and pop donut shop. The kid working complimented by glycine 369 “fakebay” style watch. To be fair it is a nice looking affordable blackbay look alike.

If you notice someone’s watch, just pay them the compliment. I know it’d make my day and I would be happy to meet another enthusiast. Especially true if I had the privilege of owning such a beautiful piece as this Omega.

(This rule has never let me down or feeling anything but joy. It doesn’t extend only to watches or possessions either)

I love mine.

·

Watches are for me. They make me feel positive. When someone compliments me it’s fine, but I take it in strides.

·

The only watch anyone has ever said anything to me about was my Brew Metric. He actually walked up and says “ is that a Brew?” Obviously I fainted.

·

Awesome!

·

That's cool. I've been posing like I'm deep in thought for years now and nobody complimented me on my watch yet.

Beautiful Omega BTW.

Well with such a stunning watch it was only a matter of time.

Yea it can be a little bit of a bummer. No one really ever notices my watches. The only people I see who where watches are smart watches snd maybe a few quarts watches.

·

People who comment on my watch:

My wife

My 7 year old daughter

Watch enthusiasts

Absolutely no one else

And I’m fine with that

·

I tend to get compliments on the colour of my strap more than the watch itself. Damned muggles that they are. I think maybe only a handful of times had someone said oooh nice this or nice that

·

Yup, I have the previous model and I chose it because it's under the radar and I can wear it pretty much anywhere without worry.

·

Got to be one of the best under the radar Seamasters in the catalog. No one gives a shit.
