Mecca Quartz Hybrid Movements

One of my hesitations buying a Chronograph is the second hand snapping back on the reset - that doesn't seem good for a mechanical movement. I underst...

I don't have one but I'm also thinking of buying one. I understand the second hand slamming back on the reset is hard on a mechanical movement so when I get one it'll probably be an inexpensive quartz to see how I like using it. I love a diver bezel so maybe I'll like a chrono too. I'm thinking about a Moonswatch, Timex Marlin Chrono, and I'm trying to identify others that aren't too big. If you are reading this feel free to suggest others.

The bracelet looks like a coat of armor. Cool.

I have one too and find it very comfortable and unassuming to wear.

And for those in the second paragraph I have a 2007 Mazda with plenty of petina they would love. 😉

Really nice stuff. If you want something different I’d go for a diver. The Explorer isn’t different enough from what you have. The Sub is nice and very popular but I like the BB better - I think it’s a smoother look. Maybe in bronze would be nice - it does petina well.

I have the current version and it seems to me that it doesn’t get enough appreciation. Some people don’t like the date magnifier but it does make the date easier to see and that’s a good thing, at least for some people. Few people don’t recognize that the new movement really is better. The shade of green is a little different. Most probably won’t notice and some may like one or the other better. The price went up but what would you expect re-releasing a very popular model after a couple years off the market.
