As an horologist I don’t advocate homage watches except in a case like yours. You can buy a quality homage, automatic, sapphire, 316L steel for under $200 and wear it for a while to see if you like the dimensions, weight, looks all will be INDENTICAL to real one, before you spend thousands on the genuine. Like a test drive.
Vostok Amphibia at 600 feet water resistance and under $200 one less thing to worry about when in the water.
There are several informative watch channels but be weary of the presenters that have a horse in the race, if they own a watch shop you can bet they will give great reviews on the brands they carry. But Teddy is exempt, look at “Just One More Watch” Jody calls it like it is.
Rolex went the way of Ferrari and they both lost. You want to buy a Ferrari then get in line and if you buy this model that you don’t want we will move you up the waiting list. And the buyers of Rolex and Ferrari said screw this no seller of goods is telling a buyer what they demand. There are choices, at the end of the day those two will realize that fact and either change for the buyers benefit or go under.
Dang you, I never thought about that before I just put on a watch one way or another now I’m thinking is my watch on too loose or tight? I’ve seen those videos where some watch guru is sticking his finger between the watch band and his wrist and declares “One finger fits so perfect!” And those people watching that video with knuckles enlarged from arthritis that can’t stick their finger between the watch band and their wrist think the band is on too tight loosen it and their watch falls off their wrist in the Walmart parking lot. If YOU think the band is on right it is.
