Omega Jump Hour and a hello to the community

Hello watch crunch people, wanted to share one of my favorite watches in my collection, the Omega DeVille Jump Hour. Made only in 1998 in either this version (which came on leather or bracelet which I also have) or in gold with white face with matching gold bracelet or leather. Between all 4 options less than 3k are believed to have been made and most sold in Asia. I was lucky to pick this one up 2 years ago before prices on it spiked.

Also as a first post wanted to say hello to everyone, always happy to talk to more people in the watch community.

Welcome! That case shape isn’t usually my cup of tea, but that one is a stunner for sure (leave it to Omega).

I find that I have a hard time reading jump hours. I have to train my eyes.  This is easy (and beautiful).

·

I hate you.  But, only because I'm jealous and petty.  That is one fine-a&& watch!!!

·

This is a beautiful watch - lovely dial details and appreciate the thoughtful design decision to have the hour window broadcasted through the minute hand. Makes for one unique little package and a piece to treasure for a long, long time! Thanks for sharing and welcome to the Crunch!

Agreed, most jump hours don't put thought into the big event of the hour jumping. This one frames it!

i love the art deco dial, needle, tonneau shape....it is very Cartier. Love it.

·

Wow, that's an awesome piece!

·

Probably my favorite execution of the jump hour. When the minute hand reaches 12 and turns in the circle, whew!

·

Mark, you are the king of hidden gems ;)

That’s a unique piece, I would never expect this from Omega, especially not in the late 90s. The 3 textured dial looks stunning and the jumping hour is a complication I would love to see more. Only the hand is not my cup of tea.

Welcome Mark!  I learn a lot from your videos 😁

BTW, @Breguetboy has the same DeVille I believe. He's the prince of hidden gems😉

🤤

@MarkHackman Wow! That’s an awesome piece 😍 and welcome! Look forward to seeing more of your collection

Most of the vintage Omega De Ville are beautiful but this one are awesome with this dial 👌. just not fan of the hand...

·

What a stunner!

I don't understand this watch. Is there only one hand?

The hand is a minute hand, the hour is the digit at the 12 position, the time in this picture is 3:58 if that helps. When it turns 4 o'clock the number 3 will "jump" to 4, that is why it is called a jump hour complication. Hope that helps

Thank you Max, have to say I like the platform you are trying to build here

Hello Mark,

Love the videos on YouTube! I think you can consider this a hidden gem...haha

Do you wear this watch often?  And if so on a strap or bracelet primarily?

First, thank you for watching the videos and so happy when anyone appreciates them.

I wear this watch a couple times a month on leather, the bracelet is sized to my wife's wrist so she wears it on the bracelet and tends to get more use out of it than I do. I am usually wearing my Weiss or top time Breitling on any given day.
