Flieger watch

Hi guys, I’m very stuck on which flieger watch I should get: type A, or type B. Both look great and are as versatile as each other. FYI, this is going to be a watch I wear everyday. Any suggestions or tips?

I went back and forth when making the same decision and went with Type A primarily due to the cleaner, more legible dial. I purchased the Islander Aviator Automatic Watch with Leather Strap and an Anti-Reflective Sapphire Crystal #ISL-16 and have been pleasantly surprised by the beautiful dial. I really appreciated the decision to leave the dial free of a logo or brand name. #islander

Depends on the typical use case.  If you are planning to use a flieger as an all purpose watch and you need a cleaner dial, I’d go with a Type A.  On the other hand if you need quick time legibility at a glance, then a B can’t be beat, because you can see the minutes and hours instantly.

if you like cleaner dial you should get type a. me myself use this laco aachen 39mm just to be a little bit different than the other 😂. i use it everyday at work or seiko field watch. works great with the boots too

I'm in the B camp

"A" camp

Buy they both ... B if the budget allows one

·

I have always leaned towards uncluttered dials. So I will always go for a type A flieger dial.

·

I'm a type-A fan, simple legibility. The biggest reason to get a type-B is to have something different looking, so if that matter go type-B.

·

Both are great. Type B for me If you can't have both. Get both 👍

·

When I bought my first flieger it was a type B. There was a reason: I teach at uni, and the most important part of time-telling in that environment is to see the minutes at a glance: how many more minutes are there in this lectures or class? So, if you have time-telling needs where the minutes have a special role then type-B is the best choice.

However, type-A is the more versatile dial, it is more GADA than type-B.

A

Both look great. B-Type for me personally. A Laco Leipzig Erbstück is still on my bucket list.

A for me. The clean dial looks uncluttered and adequately legible.

·

I'm a big B-Type fan, but can't go wrong with either.

·

I've got the Stowa B. Sometimes I think I should have gone A for the cleaner look.  But no.

The b is more interesting imo

Archimede type 42 Fliger sterile type A dial for the win.

I have a B dial Laco and find it to be very easy to read the watch at a glance. I just like it better.

·

B!

Nice watch buddy! Checking in with possibly the same strap on the dekla 42

Type B for me as A just seems a little to plain, but everyone's different

·

I have one of each.

·

Like others, I have one of each, but I prefer B.

·

To me it depends on size. 40 and up, I prefer B, everything under that and I prefer A.

·

If you're going to wear this everyday, and you'll never get a field watch which will fight a Type A Flieger for wrist time, I'd go with Type A. It is more timeless and universally beautiful. Any time you have a product where form follows function, you have something which solves the use case well, but is not the most aesthetically pleasing. The Type B was made to read the time faster but contains more clutter. Good luck on your decision!
