FINALLY CAME IN!!! (THE NEW CITIZEN TSUYOSA "SMALL SECONDS")

If you know me, or we've talked watches before, then you know that part of my "thrill" is not just finding a watch, but actually finding it at the BEST possible price. Don't get me wrong, I will still buy a watch I love at full retail, or even at a mark up, but if I can get it at a bargain... well all the more enjoyment for me. Collecting watches is not the "whole" fun to this hobby (for me), actually hunting them down, and getting them at great prices are crucial parts to fully enjoying this hobbie (for me). Aaaaaaaaanyways, as I normally do, I looked overseas (Italy, this time - eBay seller) and found the newly release TSUYOSA SMALL SECONDS for well under retail price, even after factoring in taxes and expedited shipping. I only paid $370 USD TOTAL (box, papers, registered international warranty card)! While on the official Citizen site they are $595 before taxes and shipping fees. I wanted to share this with you guys, but I had to wait till I actually confirmed the company was legitimate and I had the watch in my hands. Btw, the watch only took 6 days to arrive.

Calibre 8322 automatic, small second no-date, 60h power reserve, 21,600vph (this is what I could find on the movement). I'm honestly not too knowledgeable on Citizen Movements, I do know they use Miyota movements on some of their models, not too sure if this one is a Miyota, modified Miyota, or in house.

Citizen manufacture Miyota. Though I find the Miyota movements in Citizen's own watches tend to be better regulated than what is released to the mass market

You got lucky I'm very iffy and cautious about buying online but you definitely lucked out and I'm stoked for you that's an awesome watch

·

Congrats! I got to see the full collection at their VIP event last week and these are gorgeous. Love that it's no date too!

Yes, it's an upgraded Miyota 8322 vs the original Tsuyosa's 8210.>>>>>>>>>>

(Calibre 8322 automatic, small second no-date, 60h power reserve, 21,600vph)

"Under the see-through caseback is a new and more powerful movement, the calibre 8322. Slightly more appealing with its silver-toned bridges and stripe decor, it boasts a generous power reserve of 60 hours and features a stop-seconds mechanism."

With that upgraded movement this feels like a pretty premium watch for $370. My only gripe is the lack of water resistance. Anything under 10atmospheres worries me even though it should be fine

If I'm being honest, most of my watches (perhaps all) never get more than the ocasional splash of water from washing my hands. Even my more "rugged" beaters get the ocasional soap and warm water treatment, and are still perfectly fine. So WR has never been one of my concerns. I guess if you shower, swim or use the steam room while wearing a watch, then WR is a definite must for you. 🧐

I usually wear a diver when I’m around real water on a jetski or boat but general day to day it’s more of a mental thing than an actual issue with the watch not being able to handle it

Only had it for a couple weeks but loving it so far. The dial texture is Grand Seiko level!
