New Watch Purchase Dilemma

Hello all, I hope all of you are well. I've encountered a sort of roadblock in purchasing a Lorier Neptune.

On one hand, I can wait until the Version 4 is released with small tweaks and updates from the 3rd generation, and have a brand new, never-worn watch in my possession when it gets released.

On another hand, I am following a 3rd generation Blue Gilt model on eBay, the same style and color I have lusted over for, for a very long time, and at a discount compared to new.

Part of me wants to pay a little more for a brand new piece, but Lorier doesn't seem to have any intention on making another blue Neptune, and the blue watch is ideally one I desire more, albeit if a little bit used.

Looking for everyone's two cents to this.

Get the one you want. If there’s a color combo that speaks to you, get that one, whether it’s new or used!

Getting what you enjoy is always the first priority.

For sure, and I think I will regret settling on the newer, shinier one.

You bet, I want to have as little regrets as possible!

I'm with the people that say get the color you want.

As long as the watch isn't beat up too badly, then the wear on a used watch will make you less afraid of the first scratches, and get to actually using and enjoying the watch.

You're a thousand percent correct. I pulled the trigger finally, and I could really use a drink right now.

You'll be glad you pulled the trigger on that one and you'll have enough left over to buy a few drinks 🤣

Oh you bet. I definitely need to celebrate!

·

Get the used one which is the one you really like. And the discount to retail will make the deal even sweater. :))

I think you’ve made the right choice on the used but I am impatiently awaiting the same Lorier release for the new falcon. Hopefully they’ll send out the emails any day now.

·

IMHO there is absolutely nothing wrong with getting a used piece.
You can save some money compared to a new one and it also broadens your possibilities as a lot of cool watches are not in production anymore.
So congrats on the new watch! Let us know how you like it :-D

I would recommend only buying a watch that you like and would appreciate wearing, otherwise you will find the joy of ownership evaporates very quickly.

I really like what the did with the numerals on the new one. Makes the Tudor Ranger just seem awful in comparison.

I think so too. It'll make getting its first scratches much easier on me as well.

That’s exactly my sentiment. It is harder to find a similar styled watch than I thought. For less than $2k at least.
