First post on the new app! What was your first introduction to microbrands?

I distinctly remember reading through Worn And Wound's article on Oak and Oscar, years ago, and ever since then I've been quietly looking for a Burnham.

Some app feedback so far, I would like to see tag amounts when using them, but so far things are stable and smooth!

Lüm-Tec was my first serious foray into micros, along with Zelos. I can say I still find myself going to the LT website and having a peek every now and again; however Zelos watches seem harder to obtain than a Rolex…(kidding, but only a little). Joining the email lists are key for Zelos, but even then the products sell out in minutes when they drop, but that is good for them I am sure, and they are definitely attainable if you are patient and are free when they go live for sale.

For me it was Autodromo, also via the Worn and Wound. Man, almost 10 years ago. 😮

I see them on eBay quite a bit with less gouging than other micros, have you checked it out?

Talk about a trip down memory lane!

Bathys Hawaii, I believe they were one of the first wave of the micro trend, a very old photo and the watch is long since gone and unfortunately the company went under.

For me it was Xemex in the naughts. Sadly he passed, but he made some nice looking watches.

Love oak and Oscar! The boys are local to me here, so it’s easy to get comfortable with them. I picked up one of their pieces last year here at windup. Might do the same thing this year!

My first foray was zelos. Love the watch but it was the research into this purchase that sent me down the rabbit hole. I blame them.

I was looking for a California dial watch and Panerai was way out my league. Farer had the Cayley, but it seemed quite a hefty piece. That's when I stumbled upon Serica and their 4512 and the rest is history.

·

So @Jewbaka did you eventually find a Burnham? or is that just a stock photo? The Burnham was the first O&O piece I got and have gotten several others since. I think the Burnham is still my favorite of them all

It would have to be my Axios Ironclad 40 "Emerald night" at $600usd I have yet to find anything that even comes close in quality looks and feel.

Just a stock photo from Worn & Wound. I think for the price they're selling for now, I'd rather look into getting a Christopher Ward.

Cant really go wrong with a CW...now that he took his name off of the face! My son ubscounded with mine ...LOL

I’d love to get a Farer Mansfield someday. Truth be told I was only familiar with a handful of micro brands until WatchCruncher extraordinaire “All the Watches” March madness micro brand tourney. That’s how I found my Spinnaker Fleuss. It’s a nice looking watch at a price that costs less than a dinner for two at the Capitol Grille.

2011. I remember reading about CW. I ended up getting one of their forum limited edition watches. 2011 C9 FLE 43mm

I still have this watch though I haven't worn it in years since my taste in watch sizes has changed over the years I wear 36mm-40mm these days. It was my first mechanical watch that started this addiction.

Not my photos. I have 78/80.

For me it was Oak and Oscar, the Humboldt GMT. Awesome watch.

For me it was first microbrand, first mechanical and first diver all at once. Decided to go local (Italy) with the Vertigo Diver Two.

The dials on these… 😍 can’t wait to meet the team at O&O too. They were so great to work with when I was getting my Humboldt GMT!

My first Micro was my Monta Noble in Opaline! Quickly followed by their OceanKing model in a limited blue steel color way.

I heard about Oak & Oscar many times before that and finally got around to pulling the trigger on one last year. I got the Humboldt GMT in white, and I love it!! Would love to get a green dial Olmstead at some point, and I can’t wait to see what Owners specials they come out with next.

Also, would love to buy Chase and the team a good poor of Bourbon. Their customer service and product is truly great!
