Looking for others who are into watches

I don’t know a single person who is into watches like I am.  Most of my family think I am nuts….maybe I am obsessive compulsive, wait, maybe they are nuts…

I'm with you, I don't have any watch friends irl.

·

My son has expressed interest but he's 15 & more into video games.

Other than that, no one I know is into watches.

·

They are all on WC! No one I know

I don't have any friends irl, not to mention "watch friends"!

Oh come on, a hot girl like you?

Well, that's what makes it so hard!  Other women are just jealous that I get all the attention every time I walk into a room.  And, well, guys only have one thing on their mind when they see me!

·

If you had other watch enthusiasts around you, you would only buy more.

·

I also have no friends IRL. The closest I have to a friend is the mailman, and maybe the UPS guy.

·

I have a couple of buddies who are into watches. One has a Rolex Sub, Tudor Black Bay and an Oris Divers 65. My other buddy has a Rolex Explorer II, Omega Speedmaster and a DeVille. He’s on the list for a Daytona. Interestingly, I met them due to my other big hobby, board games. Didn’t know they were into watches until a while later. Probably because I met them in 2018 but didn’t really get into the watch hobby until 2020. Have worn watches my entire life, but didn’t know this was a “thing” until recently.

Please elaborate on this big board game hobby?

Hello I need help to, I'm obsessed. And my thinks the same.  HEEEELP😂

·

I'm friends with the local watchmaker who's also into watches, but apart from him all my mates are on here. I've only got 3 friends IRL

·

I don’t know anyone irl that’s into watches. 😞

·

I know one guy and I try to avoid the topic. The benefit here is that one can click away from thing when you lose interest.

Facts here 😭

·

No watch people amongst my family and friends, and if I can be honest, the few I bumped into in the wild were a little…creepy.

·

Funny to read that so many of you have no watch friends. At work i have several watch friends, my gf is into watches and most of my friends are as well. Maybe watches are more "normal" in Switzerland?

This is why a WC group meet up would be so fabulous and so horrific at the same time 😂

·

My friends all think I'm strange because they all have Fitbits and Apple watches and I don't.  My best friend thinks it's mental that I spent nearly £200 on my new Rotary, he thinks that's expensive for a watch. 🙄😂

·

I have a good friend in my city who is a huge watch fan like myself, also, thanks to WC I've met another watch enthusiast in my country @marioap 🎉

So don't worry, WC is the solution to your loneliness 🤣😉

WC is the solution to your loneliness

That sentence is so true at so many levels...

Same here, but between putting my stuff on Instagram and here, it's nice to meet other watch people.  I have 3 friends for a long time that always comment on my Instagram,so I see they get it, but my family thinks I'm crazy, my wife is over the entire thing and I find myself talking about watches to total strangers at parties, but hey I've always relished in being different, so I'm okay with it.  This site really helps and I'm amazed how we are all experiencing this mental illness together. 😜

I have a small circle of friends that I've know for most of my life, and none of them have any interest in watches (neither do any family members). Luckily, I live in a small city with a fairly large local watch enthusiasts group, and we have informal get togethers almost every weekend, which provides the opportunity for lots of great camaraderie and watch discussion.

·

Europe has more watch people than north America. Here its cell phones and...ya that's about it

·

My snobby brother in law is into watches. I would hang out with him but I'm not into golf...and that goes against his religion. I have opened the door slightly for my son, and my best friend has picked up a few watches lately and put aside her Apple Watch 3. So I guess like a lot of you I am making the trek over the mountain solo to the magic falls where I guess I will gaze upon them alone while chewing on a Cliff Bar.

That sounds excellent!

None irl. I'm glad though, otherwise it maybe like a bunch of addicts gathering and enabling each other.  And before long we'll all blown our life savings, take out 2nd or 3rd mortgages to chase the ever Grail Watch that's constantly morphing into different brands and models.

I had a hearing yesterday and spent the time afterward talking to the other attorney about his Panerai. A Panerai is not an unthinking choice (unlike Rolex can be). They are out there.
