Wouldn’t be lovely if I can have this GMT Master II for my 50th

Next year I will be 50 and I think having this beauty would be the perfect gift. Apparently I need to buy another end Rolex before I am offered this. Annoying but the watch is such a great fit. The sales rep was really nice and great, so let’s see what happens.

Don’t play their game, prices are dropping in the grey market so not long before you can buy anything you want at just a marginal amount of retail

·

Good luck! Nothing wrong with waiting if you really want it. I never had to buy anything I didn't want and it seems things are moving more quickly at ADs.

·

Gatekeepers. 👎

·

Love the watch but the damn games you have to play. Fuck them....

·

Don't forget you buy the first Rolex then your on the wait list for the GMT,might be easier to go grey prices are dropping

·

F them I am tired of this holy grail Rolex bull crap. What is this ? You aren't worthy yet to but this model. 😝 You can find it when your ready. Also stay away from the Kool aid they sprew.

·

Before you’re offered it?? As if you were getting it for nothing. Don’t play that game with them my friend. I’d be off to Omega for in my opinion a better watch.

·

Go to another AD. In fact find a few and put your name on the list if you want to buy it new retail

·

True words🤝

·

We’re gonna need you to buy this 3 series bimmer before we’ll sell you the 5 series you really want…not sure how anyone finds that sales model acceptable…

·

Go grey. For the price you pay for a watch you don't want (and go through the hassle of flipping it), plus the POSSIBILITY of buying the Batman (not guaranteed), you might as well get one on the secondary market. Will cost just as much, without the games and hassle.

·

Too right!

Or right on!

·

Honestly, save your dignity and do not play this Game.

Yep, if you really want this watch and are willing to spend enough extra to buy a watch you don't necessarily want just to improve your chances of getting the Batman, just go grey and guaranty that you will get one for your birthday.

I had a similar thought, put myself on the list for a Pepsi at an AD where I bought 2 watches and 4+ years on, not even a peep about the list despite going to the AD about 4-5 times a year to check in and look at watches. To be fair, the AD made no promises or assurances that I would ever get the Pepsi so maybe you'll have better luck/ plus, the market may be turning more rationale so fingers crossed for you.

·

This homie don’t play that. I won’t buy other watches (or jewelry) just to get on the list for a watch I want. My AD doesn’t play those games either fortunately.

·

I want the Pepsi but refuse to pay double in the grey market,

·

That would be a nice Birthday present. A lot of people are pushing the Grey market right now and that's good but the brick and motor experience of supporting an AD is important and the Grey market can never give you that experience. Whatever choice you make I hope your birthday is incredible.

·

One of my favorite GMTs but, I refuse to play that game with Rolex.. all the best for you on your 50th.

·

I’d say buy it. I’m 52 and seeing my mortality is quickly coming.
