Seiko SNKK52 - Sea & Sky
The watch case is a Refinished and upgraded Seikonaut SNKK52 case. It's been dual finished with brushed/polished contours, and the crystal has been changed to a sapphire with AR coating. The dial is a new design I have been working on, done in Japanese stylistic art. The Sea is comprised of blue Seigaiha waves, with the specific waves at 4, 5 and 7, 8 O'clock having a white subtle arc. My logo sits at 6 O'clock as to not clash with the more delicate features in the Sky portion of the dial.
The Sky carries on with the Japanese theme, having the clouds designed in the same fractal style of the Seigaiha wave. It was important to me trying to design the dial without having obvious hour markers, so I used different elements of the dial to point to each hour. The seagull at 12 O'clock, the clouds mark the 10, 11 and 2 O'clock. A line drawn from the origin of the hands through the center of the sun points to 1 O'clock. The Kanji characters at 3 and 9 stand for "Sea" & "Sky" respectively. The dial is 18K gold plated. Took a lot of time to design and make this one, would love to hear your thoughts.

Yes! I really feel that way too when I look at it.. because it has the most surface area, and the 18k gold reflects the light with this yellow intensity it really gives off that vibe. Thank you for the comment my friend.

That dial is beautiful and worthy. I like the subtle hour marker clues, the color choices and the overall design. I would buy a watch with this face in a heartbeat. Are the hands original to the Seiko? Forgive me, but I’m not familiar with the starting model. Anyway the shark counterweight on the second hand is inspired; the hour and minute hands look like well done Seiko hands, which means good. Thanks for sharing.
