Sakura Sometsuke

The limited new release of the Sakura Sometsuke automatic watch. The dial is a festival of color, texture and life. Inspired by the Sometsuke “White and Blue” porcelain technique employed in vintage Japanese pottery. The dial features a collection of Japanese motifs and accents. The scene is set exhibiting depth of field, featuring an old cherry tree in bloom, laying over the vista of the rising sun through the distant mountains marking 3 O’clock. A golden Japanese Wagtail is perched on the tree at 2 O’clock. The center of the Sometsuke cloud in the top right corner marks 1 O’clock. A flock of Japanese cranes hovers overhead, with the center crane emphasized in gold, marking 12 O’clock. The cloud on the top left corner marks 11 O’clock and the butterfly approaching the Sakura blossoms sits at the 10 O’clock mark. The Kanji Script at 9 O’clock translates to “Sakura” the cherry blossom, representing a time for renewal and optimism. An offset minute marker track frames the view on the dial, adorned with a small cherry blossom at each hour mark. Two main textures take center stage on the dial, on the bottom half is the varied Sakura flowers embossed as if floating in the spring breeze. On the top part are textures of wind gusts and small clouds, done in the Japanese style. All the golden elements seen on the dial are 20K gold plated. The dial sits in a beautiful Golden Grand Seiko inspired case with a top-hat sapphire crystal. The Hands are Dauphine diamond cut hands in gold with a needle style seconds hand. The Pre-Orders are open now. Please visit the link below if interested.https://www.seikodials.com/
