Incidental His & Hers
My husband's birthday and mine are exactly one week apart.

On the right, the gift I bought him.
My husband is not a watch guy, but he is very tolerant of my obsessions. Getting to this Brew Metric was however a fairly long process. When they were first released, I tried to buy him a Swatch Sistem51 to see if he would even wear a watch. It was an epic failure. I have never seen him with it. Several years later I tried a different approach and bought him an Apple watch. That one took. And he started wearing a watch. As I was getting deeper and deeper into the hole of mechanical watches, he got more interested (Thank you, Andrew Morgan. You helped a lot at this crucial stage) And I bought him a Sequent Elektron which seemed to be a good way to bridge what he liked about a smart watch and a mechanical watch. Success!
Fast forward a few months when MoonSwatches were in stock at our local store, I decided to pick up a Jupiter. He stunned me by spontaneously buying a Pluto for himself. And I knew the battle was won... So, for his birthday I got him this Brew Metric with a Retro dial.
I had no idea, he was plotting on his side to buy ME a watch for my birthday. It is not a complete surprise that he would. It is not the first time. And I have been mentioning Farer recently (among 5000 other watch brands). But I guess my genuine delight at a GMT in 36mm made an impression. So, one week after I gave him a Brew box, I received a Farer one.
These watches are very different but the teal and turquoise and the orange hands make for a fun incidental pairing.

Wow just seeing this post ! Looks like you have a great thing going with yiur husband. My wife is not a giant watch fan BUT she does have a great collection because I have "invested" in a few pieces over the years. She steals anything I own on strap : that's a good sign she has caught the bug. Often me/my son catch her swimming in one of our GSHOCKs . This is a pic I took of her in a WTF Moment where I realize she has my Radiomir on! She said she "borrowed" it LOL.
