Do you like them?

Sometimes I don't want stuff on my wrist. They also spare one from gratuitous time checks, which is quite a luxury. Hunter cases are annoying though.

ITT I argue with anyone who has a problem with occasionally carrying a pocket watch.

If I find a good quality antique piece I consider getting it

I’m a huge pocket watch fan. I’ve not a huge collection yet, but I’m working on it.

I’ve been partial to the English silver-cases fusee watches lately, I’ve several from London. I’m thinking of picking up an American railroad piece as well.

Seriously, who hates pocket watches? You may not want to own one, but...

·

You mean a phone?

Yeah they are pretty good for Netflix and sending messages.

bUT i CAN'T SWIM WITH ONE AND i DON'T WEAR A # PC SUIT AND A DERBY HAT AND SPATS111😬

i AM LOOKING TO GROW A HANDLEBAR MUSTACHE THO, SO MAYBE😉

I think they’re a good novelty. But honestly if I have to pull a pocket watch out of my pocket I might as well use use my cell phone. I’ll stick to wrist watches.

·

I don't know that I'd ever carry one around with me (not really my lifestyle), but I'd like a nice one to help remind me life wasn't always as insane as it is now.

I am proud to share my sentimental one! It aligns perfectly with what you used to refer to as a "wristlet/converter" back in the day.

·

I don't think I would have much occasion to use one as I don't attend many formal events that would require wearing a suit or something similar. I suppose you could use a shirt or jacket pocket but it seems unnecessary.

·

I absolutely adore them, although I don't own one yet. My eyes and wallet is open for a turn-of-the-century Roskopf or perhaps a '30s Elgin or Waltham.

·

They're cool

·

Don't have a big collection, but do enjoy the one I have. It is from my great grandad, an Elgin. Needs to be serviced. My dad gave it to me after my wife and I were married. He'd carried it since his dad, my grandad did the same, etc. Wear it regularly, more in the fall/winter tho TBH, since a Wool Vests are awesome but a tad warm for other seasons.

The other option I have is a size 12 watch holder from County Comm under their Maratac brand. Fits a 22mm single pass. Just haven't found the right Size 12 watch yet. Been looking but want something issued or carried by a soldier/sailor or a officer/trooper/agent/marshal etc.

They make belt holder for them as well, granted I've worn the one I have less than five times. Too many things already on my belt.

I will say I've seen these handmade pouches for watches frequently throughout the southwest, particularly in large ranching communities.

If I'm in a suit, usually have suspenders.

·

I like them and would like to have one just to have it, but I don’t think I’ll be spending money to get one in the foreseeable future.

Or a trouser pocket, or overalls.

I voted (A) on accident. I don’t own any, and don’t necessarily plan to, but I love how most pocket watches look.

·

But they can and do pick your pocket. 😂

·

Can I say love them but don't own one?

Can I say love them but don't own one?

Definitely. I just ran out of options.

·

Pocket watches are really cool

·

I dont have one, not yet at least. Admittedly though, my iwc portofino chronographer looks like a pocketwatch with lugs so i can well say i like them as well...

·

Not into them to munch but I might want t o get a few nice looking ones down the road as none runners and try and make them work again!

·

Got one from my grandpa. Love it to this day. No need to service as the time is accurate. gotta love #pocketwatches

·

I think the attraction for me is that they have all the mechanics of a wristwatch but on a bigger scale. And in a package that you can easily open up and inspect - and almost understand. I wouldn’t trust myself with the minutiae of a wristwatch.

If they’re inexpensive to buy and give you insight into watches and pleasure then definitely no harm.

Practically I rarely actually wear one - maybe once a year?

Do you know what the crest on the watch is? And is it an heirloom or a “pick up”.

It is very nice. Classy simplicity of the dial but clearly a luxurious watch.

It’s the logo of the king of Serbia. Assume it was his or a gift from him.

It was passed through descent in a British aristocracy family and then I bought it.

Great history and great to know.

I’m guessing it might have been bestowed on someone as a gift from the king. I spent time in the Middle East and that was fairly common practice there; maybe Serbia had a similar gifting culture?
