Bund….what’s your take?

Thought I’d get some chat going on this topic—test driving the new bund strap I just received from crafter on Etsy. Great workmanship—a very nice strap and great value, no complaints whatsoever. But, it’s my first venture into wearing a bund since the 1970s and it sure feels different! I thought it could pair well with my smaller 34mm Explorer (redial on a 34mm oyster). What’s your take?

I’d need a satchel to go with it

·

I think they are great for smaller case sizes. Really nice for military style watches.

And a handle bar mustache, socks with your sandals, and plaid "shorts" that fit right above the ankle

·

Looks good on you. Probably looks better on larger wrists and would engulf the smaller wrists.

·

I like the look, the purpose of them. However I don’t like them on me.

Camo bund and Laco

It does look great on that strap, you’ve done well choosing that combination 👌

Figured this one might bring varied opinions! 😂

Some of them don't look as bad as most of them do, but I still don't understand the point unless one is a leather fetishist.

·

Not for me but it's not my wrist or watch.

·

I'm not opposed to a bund, but feel like the watch/strap combo needs to be perfect to look good.

I see some terrible pairings out there. Either the pad is too big or too small, the color match is off by a shade or two or someone put the wrong style of watch on one.

·

Eh…..looks old style/retro, but not for me. But cool if you like it. Rock it!

·

I like bund straps, they are comfortable.

NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO

sorry.

·

Love them! So much better and more comfortable than metal bracelets! Wearing one right now!

They have their place, I just have not figured out where that place is, lol. I'm not a fan but I do think the right colors of watch and leather can work. The black Explorer dial looks pretty good with that rich dark leather in your pic.

No. Just...No...

·

Love the bund strap!

It makes smaller watches appear larger...it makes larger watches appear cooler...

You cannot go wrong with a style set by Steve McQueen and Paul Newman (and Nina Rindt for the ladies)...

I wear my Hanhart pioneer 417 on the OEM bund. I think it suits it quite well and it’s remarkably comfortable.

Big fan. Bund me all day. I make them myself, it's great fun:

I was never a fan of the bund strap, but I'm a convert after trying one out last year. It looks great, well done!

Just wanted to say-amazing amount of feedback to this topic! And, safe to say the line is right about down the middle as to any fondness for the bund strap. For me, it’s a fun departure and I think suits my Explorer project watch well. I’ll see how the long term wearability goes, but for now, giving it a go!
