Keep the quartz movement, just put it in a steel case with a steel bracelet.
I mean, someone postet this today, for arond 200chf.
Take away Omega/Moonwatch/Speedmaster and there is nothing left.
Omega has made a few Quartz Speedmaster models over the years. But, no, they don't charge Timex prices.
Then again, neither does Rolex.
I find it strange that people complain Swatch makes a plastic watch, or that Omega doesn't make a $300 Speedmaster, but not that Rolex doesn't make a $300 Datejust. And sell them online. In bulk.
Swatches are plastic. Omegas are expensive. What are people really expecting?

I am not talking Omega, I talk about the Moonswatch/Swatch. I think we got an missunderstanding here.
I am not asking for a real Omega, for a Timex price.
I was mearly saing that I am dissapointed in the plastic case and the velcro for that price. Swatch has stainless steal watches, they can do it, even for less that a Moonswatch.

Yup. But now with the Omega name, branding, or style.
Which is what people pay for and line up for.
Make no mistake, I have plenty of Swatches. I love them. But charging a markup over their chronographs without the iconic Speedmaster design and branding isn't unreasonable.

A threat they are making good on ๐คฃ
Hurry up kid, or soon thereโll be only MoonSwatches to buy.
While folks keep buying them they'd be stupid to stop! More power to 'em ๐๐๐ป
They need to cover other dimensions next ๐คฃ
Genuinely choked on my water there ๐
Make them in a stainless steel case and bracelet and then I will care.
That haircut tho....๐๐ป๐คจ๐ค๐

Exactly. You canโt blame a business for making a product that sells. You may not like it, but clearly others do.
Threatens is the right word
Good. Every time there's a line for a watch and not a smart watch, the industry gets another breath of life.
Make them in a stainless steel case and bracelet and then I will care.
And with a mechanical coaxial movement! And subdials more towards the bottom of the watch! And... hold up, this is just a Speedmaster now.
...
I'll take 8 ๐

Now there's a thought - how would a Mission to Moonraker look? Laser-coloured hands and a pair of shiny Jaws on the back?
If they make a metal version count me in haha
I will continue to not care
