What's your favorite grab-n-go watch?

My Seiko Flighty joined me while out on my walk this morning. I wanted to catch the sunlight for photography, so I was rushing to get out the door. That got me thinking about "grab-n-go" watches. While I usually lean more towards automatic watches, since getting the Flighty, I'm finding it's ending up on my wrist quite a bit, especially on days I'm in a hurry. This guy is 100% a tool watch you don't have to think about and the black the dial goes with pretty much anything.

What are your favorite "grab-n-go" watches, and why?

My favorite "grab-n-go" is my G Shock GMWB5000. Always set to the correct time and both rugged enough and nice-looking enough to cover just about any situation.

·

@Candide3693 I hear that. G-Shocks are the perfect choice for a "grab-n-go" watch. They're hard to beat in that arena.

·

The Flightmaster is a great choice, always ready to go. I would also maybe grab the Arnie, or pretty much any Casio.

Or maybe… the Apple Watch.

·

@gbelleh The Arnie is another good choice. I've never actually tried one on, but looking at the specs, I think it would be a little big on my 6.5" wrist. That said, sometimes Seiko works their magic and watches I thought wouldn't fit, actually do.

Oh boy, taking a risk mentioning Apple Watches on this platform. haha 🤣 Really, I don't mind them.

The Arnie is big for sure. I‘d say it’s at the limit for what I’m comfortable with on my 6.75” wrist.

Apple Watches have their place, especially for exercise tracking, and they’re always spot on accurate (as long as they’re charged). But yes, I’ll take a nice mechanical whenever possible!

My Casio ae1200 "Royale".

·

My Marathon Navigator is my go-to, but occasionally I'll wear one of my Timex digital watches.

·

Flighty has been showing up on my wrist a lot lately. Before I bought it the G-Shock GA-2100 or the GMW-5600 were my grab and goes. I still like the G-Shocks as I like having a light on the watch to see the display. One of those will likely continue to be in my watch roll for every vacation.

·

That's a great looking watch!  My grab to go watch if I didn't have the time to set and hand wind any of my automatic/mechanical watches which is rare LOL would probably be my Casio Duro on a fitted oyster fully brushed bracelet with a milled clasp.

@Jamair23 The Casio Duro is getting a lot of attention these days. They look like great watches, especially for the price. The bracelet looks good on that one. 👍

Thanks man!  I searched high and low to get this bracelet.  The journey was exciting lol 😂

My SKX! Can't go wrong with that one.  I keep it on a winder and regulated it to +1 sec. So it's always ready to go.

·

Anything that's wound and has the right time. Alternatively,  any of my three-handers that don't have a date. They are super quick to set and go. Today, it was my Farer Bradfield....went hiking with the dogs...

It will necessarily be a quartz. For me, that would mean the Casio MRW200.

·

Flighty for sure.

Is that an actual NATO? If so, how in the name of Bob Saget were you able to find a NATO that fits onto a Flightmaster?

This must be some sort of Voodoo, or you made a Faustian deal with Satan.

·

If in a hurry and none of my preferred automatic watches are running, I go for my quartz ones, most of which are chronos. I also have a Seamaster quartz so that's another pick as well. Of course, some photos for reference.

@OlDirtyBezel It is a nato, but it barely fits. If it didn't have a tiny bit of elasticity, it probably wouldn't work.

@Jaypiddy Great photo! Also, that leather strap looks killer on in it!

Thanks, I've found a killer shop online to feed my strap addiction. I recently discovered cheapnatostrap dot com and I have to say, I'm impressed with the price/quality.

Where did you get it?

@OlDirtyBezel It actually came with the watch. I bought it from Creation Watches.

That's OG stylin' right there! Schweet #ThumbzUp

·

I’m waiting on the arrival of my latest purchase… the OG Citizen Nighthawk! I know that’s going to be a fantastic grab & go watch.

Great pic of a great watch.  Giez or GW5000 for me.  I love any G-Shock with a screw-down caseback.
