Wow โ what a great memory shared and suddenly realising: they just don't seem to make 'em like they used to.ย
Enjoy that splendid time-piece as often as you desire. it's also a great way of sifting out the riff-raff at the water cooler! Anybody who actually notices and asks deserves to learn the wonderful backstory and if they're truly worthy, gets to see the inscription on the reverse. ๐๐ธ
Oh my word. That is a wonderful timepiece to behold! Not sure how many casual collectors realise โ Lorus is a pedigreed sub-brand of the almighty Seiko and thus a delightful addition to any salon drawerโฆ ย ๐๐ธ
Hey there CombatWombat (awesome nick).ย
You've really kicked the hornets' nest on this one. Whatever choice you make, you WILL second-guess yourself, experience buyer's remorse, and fight countless arguments in your head and with crowds of self-proclaimed experts.ย
Your choice of high-end timepiece should be made with your heart and gut. Or not! If the room where your watches were sleeping, was on fire, and you could only take one piece while the others meltedโฆ which one would you grab?
Are you a collector, an investor, a grail knight, or a #WatchLover ?
All of the above? The heart wants what the heart wantsโฆ
Haha yes! Both are excellent EDC companions. Your timepiece looks #Fabugorge and for myself, the Festina adds a certain "Je ne sais quoi". Naturally, the Opinel (au carbone or stainless steel) is as fine a pocket-knife as any my grandfather carried to whittle matchsticks and slice up biltongโฆ ๐๐ธ
