Hey, WC community.
Im reaching out as I need the power of the collective mindset here.
The Mrs has finally given up on smart watches and decided she wants a nice watch similar to the ones I wear.
The turning point was the Farrer Eddington, which she said was "too pretty" to be a man's watch ๐
Howevee I got to keep that one, but she is after a watch. Her requirements are that it's a ladies watch and quite small, that is has numeral dials all the way around and looks nice.
I was wondering if anyone knew of any watches which match this? Or if there are any microbrands similar to farer, Baltic etc which focus on women's watches?
Any help would be appreciated

I'd take her out shopping on high street, and a nice lunch :)
Maybe go on Chrono24 first for a bit of an overview, you can put in search parameters like dial color, numerals etc.
Cartier Ballon Bleu ref WSBB0067.Quite small and has roman numerals all the way around.

Thanks I have just done this for inspiration. Didn't know they had a dial filter. Now that I have seen their filter catagories I would say a lot of the luxury watch sellers should take note.
Thanka for brining to my attention

Sorry I wasn't clear on my typing. I meant numbers (1,2,3 etc)

In the luxury end Chanel J12 has numbers and is available in black or white, auto or quartz. Or you could go vintage, the men's sizes then may fit well.
If youโre looking for a microbrand then check out March LA-B if you havenโt already. I think they make some great looking watches with models specific to men and women. Honestly, Iโve considered buying some of the womenโs models for myself! ๐
You can't go wrong with Cartier, all ladies like it. If budget constraints are lower go with Longines Dolcevita or La Grande Classique colelction. But those are more or less roman numerals or markers. You will limit yourself if numbers are a must, maybe Nomos can do the trick ( Tetra or Club ).
Cartier tank on steel bracelet. Nothing like it. And when she googles who else has worn the Tankโฆgame over. CASE CLOSED
If she likes color perhaps a dark red Seiko Presage. If she likes funky perhaps a mr Jones. If she likes style perhaps a Cartier. If she likes vintage perhaps an Omega Constellation. If she likes a chunky dive watch perhaps a Phoibos or an Islander. If she likes nerdy go for a pink Casio or the Brew Pixal.
Come to think of itโฆ. This is basically my wishlist ๐
Depending on your budget, the small Carrier Santos is perfect. Dress or Casual.
maybe don't look at it as a "ladies watch" but instead a "properly sized watch"...I think it will give alot more options
If you're interested in microbrands, Beaucroft makes a gorgeous watch that I'm drooling for.. https://beaucroftwatches.com/collections/seeker-watches
For bling, anything from Cartier, Seiko, or Citizen have beautiful options. When I do a search for ladies watches, it's interesting how few come up with actual numbers on the dial. It's usually crystals, diamonds or some kind of marker instead.
I'm curious to see what you end up getting. Good luck!

Thank you, never seen this brand before, however they look excellent. Unfortunately I couldn't see any with numbered dials
Might be great for mum, on a big birthday though
Baltic MR01! :)
The JLC Reverso is a ladies' size watch. Just saying.
Ditto what Dean said! JLC ticks the boxes and looks great doing so.

Wow wow wow!
I went through this exact process not long ago. My criteria were it has to be smaller than 35mm, not too blingy and has a mechanical movement since she already has several Quartz watches. I short-listed some Cartiers, IWC Portofino 34 and Omega Aqua Terra 34. In the end, I ended up with the Omega because I felt I was getting more value than the others. What I learnt pretty quickly is that a small watch with a mechanical movement often commands a higher price or they come in larger diameter. A lot of ladies watches in small sizes come with Quartz.
Longines Symphonette. Trust me๐
This was the winner ๐
Showed it too her and despit swing the diamond one on sale from ยฃ4k to ยฃ1,500 she says it's too expensive and she's going back to a smart watch
I did tell her, I'm paying... But then she reminded me what's mine is hers ๐
Not sure what your budget is, but Montblanc has one that fits the bill. Only 30mm in size, so it's a true ladies watch (also...diamonds):

This Longines also fits the bill at 25.5mm:

There's also one at 34mm...

Hear of Abingdon Watch Co yet?
My wife's preference are small watches as well. In her words, "simple but sophisticated". Some watches that I am considering are:
Nomos Tangente
Cartier Tank
Cartier Panthere
Longines Dolcevita
Longines Mini Dolcevita
However, she isn't really a watch person (she's been wearing the same Seiko Lukia for 15 or so years) so I feel like she would appreciate a quartz movement more. Consider that too, as it might be easier for someone to just have a grab and go piece instead of having a mechanical/automatic watch.
Lots of good suggestions already - Longines mini dolce vita would be my pick. Also Tudor 1926 28mm if you want to go the automatic route - you don't see them very often
I recently saw the โ12โ from Christopher Ward in 36mm.
Several dial colours in both steel and titanium.

Thank you, I'll run them past her. The cartier tank unfortunately doesn't have a numbered dial in the ladies. Will check the others and thanks ๐
