Same watch, different colors

Hey crunchers!! What’s your take about purchasing the same watch but in different colors? I’ve been tempted to do this a couple of times but kept telling myself there’s a lof of other options out there. Let me know thoughts 🤔

If you like a watch enough to buy more than 1 of it then that's an impressive watch! Go for it!

Good point 😁

·

Nothing wrong with it if it’s brings you joy and it’s the direction of your collection.

I have 2 Tissot pr100 Powermatic 80's in 33mm. I liked the black dial and got the white version too. Both of them were under $200.00 each which is a lot less than the cost of the movement.

·

Why not if you like it.

·

I would probably take a blue OP 41

·

I’m hesitant to say go for it, but I don’t see anything wrong with getting, say, 2 G-Shock squares or Casioaks.

·

Buy what you like. I have a Seiko 5 diver. They make that watch in many colors. I thought about buying a second but I didn’t

·

Can someone get me all the Omega ATs

·

Not for me, probably different iterations. My dream will be having multiple iterations and complications Reversos from different era.

I think it's a waste. But then, I'm a guy who likes to operate with under 10 watches. I simply don't have room in the collection to buy the same thing again and again.

·

I’m guilty of this. I own two BB58 and GMTs in different colors. I consistently wear all 4.

Two sets of twins.

Glad to know I’m not the only one lol. I was torn about this idea for a while 😬

·

I have a green Aqua Terra and I’m planning on getting the saffron one so… yeah 😂

·

So I went ahead and purchased both the Blue and Brown color variants of the 3 they released of the Seiko US only King Turtles. The turtle shell dials are amazing and love the little turtle engraving on the backs. not mention Kanji date wheel and no cyclops. Long story short, I ended up selling the Brown version.

Decided I just loved the blue one too much and didn't need it.

I like both of them either one would be a good choice

Ahhh yes! These are nice! They’re my two go to colors for watches

·

I get why some would do this, but it's not for me. I want variety

·

I've had this same conundrum before and what I broke it down to is, you'll wear both differently with different outfits and enjoy them both just the same. Crazy en it?

·

I vote yes!

·

Go for it! I have some speedys in different colors.

Whatever works for you. I’ve been tempted some by the same watch but different materials. I think at lower prices I’ve been tempted a bit by same watch and different colors.

·

I've got two colours of the Casio Duro and two of the Casio Royale. My son has the Casio F-91w in three different colours. These are cheap watches though.

For me personally, i'd only do it if they were cheap. For example, I have three Moonswatches (Earth Jupiter, Pluto), but I wouldn't buy my Longines Zulu Time in Green and Blue.

·

I’ve wanted to, but never pulled the trigger. Usually I find that I bought the “more preferred” color dial the first time, so getting it in a different color it would always play second fiddle. Changing a strap works well for color switches. I think there are too many watches I want to try. Maybe I’ll change my tune when I’m at the end of this hobby and life and just want things simpler.

This goes for the more expensive mechanical pieces. If we are talking G shocks and Swatches etc…. I’ll load up on the same or similar watches in different colors.

·

Yes. Although it’s far easier to own multiple of the same watch when the watch is relatively affordable.
