Wise have this beauty: Adamascus AD8. Thin, ornate, not too modern, Miyota 9015 on display and even bronze limited editions.

Vero.

Only because, and it might be petty to some, but as a W. TX boy I spent weeks every summer at my grandparents cabin in Cloudcroft, NM for years. Some of the best summer memories ever. And now my siblings and I are bringing our kids to the same spots.

Cloudcroft and Ruidoso are near the Lincoln National Forest, which is where Smokey the Bear, the actual bear was found in the Capitan Gap fire, in the Lincoln National Forest in 1950.

And Vero has a Smokey the Bear Watch AND Forest Service collabs.

Don't own one of either yet, but plan too.

While maybe not as glamourous as SEALs, or MARSOC, the Forest Service are a hard working crew that have an important job. It's nice to see them get recognized.

And c'mon who doesn't like piney woods vacays in the heat of summer?

Plus the Vero Openwater is a very affordable, very new school/modern dive watch.

Pics for those who don't wanna click the links. Edited to just the Smokey the Bear ones, click the links like the gamesmaster @AllTheWatches wants us to lol 😂

I'm a fan of the fun vero designs

·

Wise wins my vote. Very nice materials and finishing that for the price are unattainable anywhere else as far as I have been able to find. I have these two.

·

Vero offer a 10 year fully transferable warranty, no questions asked. Vero actually bother to adjust their movements.

·

I voted for Vero for the simple reason that they offer different engaging designs.

·

Having recently bought this beauty from Wise, they have my vote.

Great quality, finishing and originality. I like most of their models, and they have a good range now.

Gotta go Vero. Wise look like they make some beautiful watches. But Vero’s designs are more modern, fun, unique, and simultaneously nostalgia inducing with their connection to the US Forest Service. I’ll be visiting several national parks this summer, I might have to pick up a new Forest Service before I hit the trails.

·

Vero gets my vote for pushing the “made in America” agenda and having creative/original designs. I haven’t bought one yet though because I can’t get on board with some small details, e.g. very few models having date complications, the chronograph minute totalizer that doesn’t show me a finer resolution than 5 minute increments, and the redundancy of a chronograph and timing bezel.

I wish they’d make a Work Horse that had each minute marked on the chronograph and a 12 hour bezel. That way I could time things with the chrono and then use the bezel to either view elapsed hours on long timing exercises or use it to view another time zone.

·

Wise, simply one of my best watch purchase. Excellent build quality, original design, best lume out there.

Love the Smokey the Bear design. That watch sells out quickly.

Yup. Also rarely/if ever pops up on eBay.

·

Vero just made me a fan - I “need” one for Summer

·

This is a very sentimental watch.

·

I'll be adding a Vero to my collection. Their designs are truly unique. They cut their teeth in the business trying to actually manufacture everything in Portland Oregon, which I have respect for (even if that didn't work out for them). The 10 year warranty... And I live 2 hours away from their assembly location. Lol easy choice for me.

Love hearing that and while the goal of this whole thing is exposure, a great side effect is sales. :-)

Grew up and currently living in raincity (Vancouver bc)

Seattle and Portland are my Neighbours. Gotta support my cloudy beer loving neighbours - Vero!

And ‘Open water’ is a term I relate to as an ocean swimmer and kayaker

I just double checked, and they actually are still making at least one case in portland!

Bit of a roughy for me, not really a big fan of either brand, but both seem like solid companies with solid offerings. I’m getting the feeling that this vote may be going to the better sample photo based on the overwhelming support in comments of #vero vs. the landslide in votes for Wise. I’m voting for Vero because I like their consistent dedication to an ideal, the outdoors.

I just wish they had fixed lugs or drilled lugs tbh. Unless they are fixed?

I think it uses pins.

Either way, very cool option and Monobloc is always cool.

·

Tool vs Style...this actually a tough choice. I'm interested in getting my hands on something from both of these brands.

·

#wise wins for me, I prefer their designs over vero

·

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Wise!
