Micro Tournament Round 1 Day 4: Monta Vs. Bravur

Rules: • Voting is based on the overall brand, not the individual model or sample photo. • There are no rules on how you should choose, but you are welcome to civilly debate quality, value, heritage, etc. • Voters are encouraged to look at the hashtags for threads on individual brands or visit their sites. • Poll closes apx 11PM ET 3/17. • Be respectful of all the brands and members, even if the vote does not go your way. This is meant to be lighthearted fun to raise awareness of 64 microbrands. • Ties will go to the brand with the most unique user-owned photos of their watch on this thread. Good luck and have fun! Solid options from the underdog

·

I've been tempted by the Bravur: a cycling watch is so obscure I'd like to give props for making one. But a chrono doesn't really belong on a cyclists wrist and it's not a column wheel vert clutch.. so I've not sprung for one. But prize for originality so they get my vote today! Edit : lol just saw this lopsided battle 😂

I am lucky to have both, met the owners of both brands, and they are each awesome. Very well made, wear exceptionally well, but yeah…I hope folks look at both.

Monta for me.

Triumph is just classy and sporty. Plus they are from St. Louis and I've visited their boutique when I was stationed up near there. (And Mrs. SolidYetti was born in MO, lived in StL and KC areas.

Might be biased towards MO brands too.....👀🤏🏻🫣

I voted Monta and have come close to pulling the trigger on an Atlas a few times. Bravur seem pretty good I hadn't seen them before but I like some of what they have. The one's I liked the most are of course sold out.

·

CB I know you are also a fan of Bravur, but let's face it they are going to lose.

I am in the minority, but other than the watches being a tad bit small for my 7.5 inch wrist, I really like what Bravur has done...

Monta. No contest. I have owned three Monta's so I can already from experience. Amazing build quality. Awesome bracelets. You can build a good watch but you have to have a good bracket or it ruins the whole experience (Looking at you Sinn). The customer service has been first rate. Exactly what you would expect from a world class watch company.

Monta for me. Well established and look like very good quality.

·

Wow bravur what a shock 🫨😲

·

Bravur since they are a bit different and love the colors there.

·

I own a Monta so I voted with my wallet. Easy call for me. I hope Monta goes all the way.

Agree, I went with Bravur as I see this brand much more likely finding a way into my watch box, much more interesting designs. However like @Fieldwalker , I see we are in the small minority. Oh well, that makes it fun!

·

I'm not a huge fan of either brand, but at first glance Bravur feels like a very niche market with some niche designs, which carries some weight to be sure. Monta on the other hand feels like they have a grounded sense of who they are and what they make. At the end of the day, I felt that I was much more likely to own a Monta than a Bravur so that's how I voted.

·

Monta for me, I think it's the best micro-nrand on the market, at least making Swiss made pieces. It's entire line up of models is rock solid, all superbly built and finished, and not a loser in looks in the catalogue.

I have been tempted by Bravur too. Very underrated brand in my opinion. I spent time chatting with the founders at Windup SF last year and they are just about the nicest guys you will ever meet. Having seen and tried on some of their watches there, I can vouch for their high quality and craftsmanship. Still considering!

Happy to include myself in the small but powerful Bravur club with you and @Fieldwalker!

I’ll sing the praises of both of these amazing brands. Proudly own both, so having to choose is not great!

Both very lovely pieces indeed! 💯 🎯

·

Monta makes better overall watches but bravur makes the best watch. And being a cyclist I'll feel like a traitor voting for monta here.

·

#monta wins in my book & it’s not even close

·

Never seen Bravur before and it looks like a great brand. I gotta go Monta though — definitely closer to something I’d wear.

The Giro is my favorite race!!!! Tudor is the title sponsor of the whole race now, they really should step up and make a baller Giro themed watch. All of Italy, and me, would buy it.

Yup, if I ever get one on wrist that could easily be the end of my willpower!

·

This may be the toughest one for me.

Poll closed for this matchup. Congratulations to Monta!
