There is definitely something to be said for letting go of a watch that no longer brings you joy and having cash in hand. I’ve only done it once and don’t regret it. A couple of others (worth far less) I gave away and still felt good about it.

I have watches quite a bit older than that and the hands haven’t deteriorated like yours have. Perhaps moisture got into the watch or it was just cheaply made.
