I have never really thought about the weather with my watch choice but I would wear my G-shock Square. 5600 series

Yea a “shock” to the system

Come to America, it's warmer. There's room for one more. 🍻

·

I like my leather straps in the winter.

·

Nice. At least I don’t have killer spiders, snakes and other varmits. Miss the beach 🏝️ though 🤙

Every couple of years I think "Canada might be a nice place to live."

Then I see this type of stuff and go, "every place has positives & negatives, but Canada has too many of those kind of negatives."

Nice Speedy though!

And at least I live in a province that has the most sun all year long. Thanks 🤙

Feel ya brother 🤙

This, because it's on a bund .

G-shock. No lubricants to congeal and kept warm enough to function by body heat from the wrist.

·

Yeah, that’s too cold lol. Move immediately haha. I could never tolerate a temperature that actually forced me to stay indoors, which I assume at negative 30+, is the case.

·

It's 18 degrees in Seattle area right now. Cold snap! I'm counting on Casio to get me through.👍 Stay warm, fellow crunchers!

·

Wow!! 🥶Almost makes it feel tropical here, G-Shock is my go to watch when the temperatures start getting real low.

The one I have on today feels like a good choice for a brutally cold day.

Those centipedes are the stuff of nightmares

Alpinist white with the leather makes me feel like Shackleton when it’s this cold

·

agree..but there is something so creepy about those things

like a train of death

all legs armor and poison pinch face....yikes

·

Wrists often get exposed between a cuff and glove when playing or working in extreme cold.

Steel gets painful fast. High thermal conductivity

Ti is better, definitely more comfy than steel, especially if not on bracelet.

Ceramic is best, zero thermal conduction and can feel warm on skin when outer side is -15

I just picked up the same Speedy Racing in black. In in Fargo (obviously from my handle). It hasn't got that cold here yet. But we all know it's coming.

·

We are also having a icy cold snap in Vancouver, BC at -12C.

We decided to stay at home and wore my home watch, CW C63 Sealander.

Funny you mention this! I am visiting family in Maine and I usually surf in the winter while wearing a wetsuit of course. But recently I was going surfing during our last storm, it was 20F but with windchill it was approaching single digits. I was studying online that freezing or extreme temps can have an affect on mechanical movements by expanding or shrinking the tiny metal parts so I opted not to wear my watches it in the water. Getting the watch wet on the outside of a wetsuit and then taking it up into the wind can freeze it even more.

I wonder though - do you know if an omega diver for example is built to withstand those kind of freezing temps while in the water?

I would assume their Deep Water model would do. Omega Mechanical watches due to their oils are certified to operate between-20 to +70 C. So in this case I would not expose my watch with these elements for long. 🥶

So very nice is white

Wow that’s great to know though. I didn’t realize they had a tempature rating. Thanks for sharing!

I live in Anchorage and wear whatever I want 🤣 although when it’s really cold/icy, I tend to wear my CasiOak or Orient Ray just cause they’re tough and can take a beating if I somehow have to get my truck out of a ditch
