"a unique backwards-running dial" don´t know about this... it seems fairly easy as a complication, very dificult to read. Clockwise is a term we use for many things, so it does not make sense to flip this as a novelty. I prefer the crazy hours concept., or wondering hour, or jump hour. this is not doing it for me.
I see your point...but again, most of battery operated watches come from factory with a little plastic ring on the stem to avoid battery being drained before the buyer gets to it...its the case of Timex watches. One friend asked me if their watch was broken, but it was just this little plastic that was still in place, hence the watch did not start ticking. I guess if you live in a very hot and humid enviroment this could an issue. I think still the gaskets do their thing.
I do not have only wind watches... I do wind my automatics a few times when i wear them before i put them on. But I do not wind while they are not in use.
I do pull the crown on my quartz pieces to stop them and save on battery life. I have over 20 watches, so it makes sense, not to have them all running all the time.
I do wear ALL my watches, the ones I neglect, are given away!!!
