How would one start a watch club in their country? a Community?

Hello WC´s.

I live in a LATAM country and cannot find any watch clubs I can join. I am a watch geek as anyone here, and I would like to interact with peers on watches. I understand that in countries like mine, where crime is a problem, and people just do not wear Rolexes on the street. But they used to....many decades ago. I know there are many out there, and have met a couple of people with cool watches. But how to get them together?

What do yo WC´s recommend do first?

How do I contact these people? Social Media?

Word of mouth?

I would like suggestions on how to approach these people without being perceived as suspicious... again, the crime issue.

i think nowadays social media is a good platform to start a community. it can be paired with watch photography too, and it would be nice to stage a meeting once or twice
