NWA 🚨 + A Week On The Wrist - Omega CK859
After seeking you watch nerds' green light with my previous (first) post from few weeks ago, I went ahead and got my Omega CK859 by trading in my Tudor Black Bay Harrods Edition last week.
It has now been exactly one week since I got my hands on to it, so I thought it might be a good excuse to write a post to share some initial thoughts thus far; not going to write an in-depth review here though (yet).
In general, it has been a pleasure wearing the Omega CK859 for two main reasons:
1. It really has sratched my itch for a dress watch; and
2. It somehow makes me (the watch) feel special as I particularly enjoyed this weird pleasure of explaining to my friends that this piece does not belong to any of the Omega series (i.e. Seamaster, Speedmaster, Constellation, etc.). Yup, I know - nobody really cared.
The combination of a 39mm steel case and leather strap makes this a very wearable watch, not so light that you don't feel anything on your wrist but weight-wise it's light (or heavy) enough that you know it's presence.
In terms of accuracy, it seems to have picked up approximately 5 seconds a day, which seems to match with what Omega said it would be with this Metas-certified movement. Well, not a big issue for me so far, I suppose it gives me a reason to take it off my wrist and set the time every week.
That's it so far, let's see how it goes and I might write another post for this later on.

This is a tremendous watch! Congrats.
For what it’s worth / my two cents: I think the Omega is a much more special and better looking watch than the BB (even though that was the admittedly very good looking Harrods edition!). Enjoy wearing it!

I love everything about it, a few elements that stand out to me are the blue hands and that vintage Omega logo. It’s dressy but hip as well!

This was Omega’s smash hit of the year. Unfortunately they released it a few days after the MoonSwatch launch so no press, YouTubers or influencers even noticed. It was over a month before I saw the first video review of it.
I don’t even know if they had a plan for it or if their plan changed because of the relative obscurity of their newly released model. Either way, it was discontinued before my AD even received one.
It’s too bad because this was Omega’s best release since the blue CK2998. I think the CK859 is going to be a legend.

No idea why they discontinued this model after such a short period of time. It certainly got the attention from people like us, but perhaps not so much with arguably the bigger consumer group who are more into their sports models.
Perhaps try the 2nd hand market if you are still interested!

Nice little trade up there! Enjoy and good news is if years from now you want to trade this one I have a feeling it will at the least hold its value!
