Brand loyalty

Do any of you out there have that collecting urge come over you for a certain brand? Maybe it's something with sentimental value and you decided to add one or two more of the same brand, or just something you were really pleased with so bought another. I'm sure there's some out there that love their Seiko's or whatever. Some of the more entry level brands are good for this, as it's so attainable to have say, several Casio's - perhaps a vintage and a modern.

I love Omega. I have restored several 1960s Seamasters and wear a modern Aqua Terra as my primary daily. Just excellent build quality.

Breitling and Cartier mainly because of friendships connected to when I first discovered the brands.

I dig when people have preferences, assumptions, favourites and such, but I will never understand brand loyalty. I mean, come on! Loyalty? Really?😄

You should be loyal to your wife, family, country or cult if that floats your boat but to brands?

I dont get it because brands dont care the slightest about the individual. They care about the individuals preferences, buying habits and weakspots so they can sell them stuff and make profit. If both parties are happy in that transaction, thats cool, but once people start valuing the brandname and heritage over the actual specs and value for money, Im lost.

Im not talking abou personal choices but shitting on others for not buying brand, swiss, expensive, whatever...

I would not be unhappy if I were to get a Speedy, a Seamaster, a Railmaster, an Aqua Terra & a vintage mid-century Constellation, but that's like a year's worth of mortgage payments, so that's not happening.

But for what I can afford, I have no loyalty to a brand. My desire for interesting & unique pieces cannot be contained within such restrictive limits.

At opposite ends of the scale, VC and Vostok. I have a few brands where I have more than a couple but I don't see any of it as brand loyalty. I could easily be sucked into owning many Seikos, but again it wouldn't be loyalty, I just like their older designs.
