The ETA 2892 is the best off the shelf movement dollar for dollar. Just an exquisite design. Highly accurate, highly robust, super thin, easily serviced. It’s an upgrade from the 2824 and not all that much more expensive. I really wish it was used more.

It can be regulated to that in a single position and wind level on your time grapher at home. The wind level variance and positional variances of the movement are too great to actually get that kind of performance in different use cases.
The NH35 is great. Tough as nails, dirt cheap and functional, but it will never be a precision chronometer.
That might have been a relevant consideration in 1950. People send and receive wires via mobile phones from the remote corners of the jungle these days. You are far more likely to find someone willing to accept a wire than to find someone willing to take a Rolex. There are more Folex’s in circulation than real ones. People without expertise to authenticate won’t touch them in exchange for cash.
