Rolex Oyster Perpetual - Which Color For a Lady?

I recently contacted a Rolex Boutique which I have not had any purchase history with and enquired about the Submariner. You can definitely make an informed guess of what they told me... Yes... "Not in stock, but would you consider this silver dial Oyster Perceptual instead? It is not in stock either at the moment, but the wait would be shorter.", etc. I am not particularly a fan of the OP, but I casually asked my wife if she would be interested in this piece. To my surprise, she is interested! And I asked her to pick her first choice and the second choice on the color. I did not do any research on the OP prior to that, as said, I was not a fan of the OP before. I had no idea of whether any variations of the OP are in hot demand. I then visited the Rolex Boutique and asked them to put my name on the enquiry list for the Submariner and the two colors my wife picked for the OP. The gentleman wrote down my personal contact information politely and then I went home. That night I googled trying to get a sense of how long the waiting would likely be, as the gentleman at the Rolex Boutique would not say. And from what I found, I was surprised that he did not ask me to get lost... Can you guess what colors my wife picked? First choice: turquoise blue! Second choice: candy pink! But I am glad that she picked these two colors, as I am more than 100% sure that I will not get any call from the Rolex Boutique on the OP.. Saved me some money! Haha... If you are to pick a color for a lady, and if all the colors are readily available, which color would you choose? There can only be a maximum of 4 options in the poll. I'll leave out the 3 more common colors. If you pick any of these 3: bright blue, bright black, or silver, please feel free to leave a comment instead.

Offered the blue, bought the blue. Wife wears it almost every day and it has more scratches than all my watches combined. Absolutely awesome.

·

Bright blue or turquoise blue?

·

Turquoise all the way. I’m not gonna lie…I rock my wife’s all the time when she doesn’t have it on.

·

Statistically, your wife's favorite color is not pink. Women do not, as a whole, like pink. It's no surprise she picked the turquoise, it's absolutely gorgeous.

I put on an enquiry for the 36 mm for both the turquoise blue and candy pink, so I and my wife can both wear it if we can get a hand on either color (okay.. may be not the pink). 36 mm should be a good size for either a man or a woman. But I doubt I will get a phone call from the Rolex Boutique about the OP. On the other hand, I think I may have a chance on the Submariner though. I am supposed to be on their enquiry list for all these 3.

Interesting statistical data! No wonder she picked the turquoise blue! As predicted by the statistics, as a man, I also like blue. But I like dark blue more than light blue though.

As this will be her watch (if we have a chance to get a hand on one), I let her pick the color, but we choose a size that we both find comfortable with.

Your wife is very lucky, I think the turquoise blue or candy pink looks great with women ❤️

Haha.. we are only on the "enquiry list".. don't even know if we would have the chance to get one... 😕

Don’t lose hope, but man I wishmy partner would do the same thing in the future 😅🥹

I think the silver dial OP is the perfect colour for these.

Super versatile.

TBH if they call and offer you anything else just take it as if your good lady is a bit “meh” over it… at 36mm you can wear it 😂🙌

·

I suspect you would have had a call to go collect the silver dial within a week if you’d have said yes.

·

Probably the colour she would like most? 😅

·

I'd say there all feminine other than the green 👍

Facts…my wife would most likely go blue

·

They are all nice but in my opinion the silver dial is where it’s at. Elegance and ruggedness in one package. Afaik the first Rolex with yellow gold indices and hands that is otherwise fully stainless steel. Effectively works in every situation. Understated but brilliant. Timeless and a future classic.

Isn't that Tiffany Blue (not turquoise)?

Tiffany Blue is a hue(?) of turquoise~blue-green. It’s just that watch people have forgotten their colors, and call anything that is light blue “Tiffany blue” lol

·

I was offered the 41m turquoise blue, bought it, wife loves it.

·

A or B.

·

My wife wants the turquoise blue 31mm. I’ve had a request in with my AD for a little over a month. I’d like to talk her into the celebration dial because that’s my favorite, but it’s her watch (hopefully, that is).

·

Got the 31 blue for my mom, debating getting the 31 celebration for my sister, I have the 41 celebration and while I love it it can be a bit much

You can go with Turquoise Blue dial for yourself and match with her Candy Pink. It would be a nice couple look. Can be Rolex, Tsuyosa, PRX, Casio or another brand though.

I asked for a black 36mm OP and got a call 3 weeks later that they had the “Tiffany blue” in and asked if I wanted it. You never know what will happen. It’s a perfect size, fun watch and great conversation piece. If you can afford a new Rolex and get a chance, I always encourage folks to pull the trigger. OP or Sub, you’ll be happy either way.

I am puzzled on the color black for men considering the number of black dials available and in circulation. It has a very low preference.

I think people may also want to call whatever hue of light blue on their watches "Tiffany Blue" after the crazy record auction price on that blue Tiffany+Patek Nautilus... 😜

It is no longer available for the 41mm.

I heard that the Celebration dial is even more difficult to get.

Yes, I personally find it a bit cartoonish... would prefer just the turquoise blue instead.

If she gets the Candy Pink and I am to get one for myself only, I would likely go for the Bright Blue instead. Turquoise blue is a good pick for its gender neutral look, but if it is worn by me only, I think the Bright Blue may be more better for a man.

Yes, it is a very common color.. but at the same time also timeless... I don't mind a black dial, as long as the overall design of the dial and bezel looks good on the back dial.

Fair enough 👌
