Going Green

I feel I need a bit more colour in my collection. I have blue and orange covered, so the plan is my next watch to be a green dial. Looking for something sub £1k, preferably everyday/sporty, definitely not dressy. Probably just a 3 hander. Favourites at the moment are CW Sealander which now comes with the new logo, and the Zodiac Olympos. I also quite fancy one of the German brands with hardened steel technology maybe?

Any thoughts from owners of these or suggestions for others I might look into much appreciated.

I don't have a ton of green options saved but here's a few ideas. I included a few other colors as well.

That Citizen is 200 bucks and titanium. Pretty insane value and it's probably gonna last decades too.

It also comes in a chronograph version for 300 but I don't remember if there's a green one.

I mean the green Citizen.

The chronograph version looks like this. I think there might be a green.

I'm going to propose the Seiko Alpinist, just so that I'm first to say it 😉

·

Geckota Seahunter is also a nice green

I've been a fan of the Citizen Tsuyosa line

I think you can't go wrong with the C63, they are impressive watches, particularly when compared to watches costing the same.

I do like this look, dark dial and green bezel, like some Longines Spirit. but I want a green dial

Got this for £550, love it. Gets worn hard and the diashield coating is fantastic!!

Can't recommend the Willard enough. 👍

Another Alpinist plug, in this case the "baby":

Check out Traska. They have cool green hues in their different collections of watches. https://www.traskawatch.com/

Check out also Straum. https://straum.co/

Advanced congrats! 🍻 While waiting for your green watch to arrive, check out bracelet and strap options you can put it on. https://www.watchcrunch.com/hakki501/posts/bracelet-and-strap-options-part-3-green-dials-43749

The Venezianico Nereide Madreperla was my choice for a green watch, and I’m very happy with it. https://us.venezianico.com/cdn/shop/files/2_799b2ed6-f8c9-4775-ad6d-25c2a9fdea35_1200x.png?v=1687684470

I love my olive khaki mechanical, even managed to resurrect it after a trip to the washing machine 😅

Holy crap 😂

You now have 1 million suggestions!

No idea if it’s mentioned in the reems above, but my Zodiac SSW was $1100 used and it’s a great watch, kinda sea foam green

Image

And my Kurono was more like 3k, but it kills it in the green to die for category!

Just ordered this JLC, been lusting for a while

Interesting. Hadn't thought of mint greens

Have seen reviews of the Straums. Beautiful dials but outside what I want to pay.

Yep, the Traska Freediver, Commuter, and Seafarer come in mint green. The Summiteer is Sage Green, while the Venturer is Woodland Green. Yeah, Straum is a tad out of your budget. Check out also the Seiko Alpinist SPB245...

Own the CW sealander GMT with the green dial; really enjoying it sofar. Don’t bother with the Ocean strap though, looks much better on the leather camel.

And personally, I’m glad I have one of the pre-logo ones; but i know opinions are divided on that :)

I have the CW green 3 hander. I too prefer the ‘Christopher Ward’ rather than the twin flags logo. I think we’re in the minority though.

Regarding the green dial, it’s very different from most green dial watches which IMO makes it kind of unique.

Yeh, I think they kept the pre order price for about half an year. 😂

Still not getting mine, as I am struggling between it and formex.

I just looked at the website, you're right it went up $100. At least they offer some nice matching color leather strap options as well

I think their 3rd model is coming up. I'll wait.

Thanks everyone for taking the time to make recommendations. Lots to look at and some brands I’ve never heard of. Some things are clearer:

It probably won’t be a diver.

I must try on an Alpinist, although I am leaning away from sunburst green

Pitzmann is definitely on the shortlist. Will read/watch more about them

No one seems to have a bad word about the CW, and maybe I should consider the GMT.

There are a LOT of green dials out there!

Cool, looking forward to seeing what they release next 👍🏼

For an affordable everyday watch, I’d recommend… the Hamilton Khaki Titanium, the Seiko Alpinist, or Tissot Gentleman
