Dress watches, dark dials, give me your alternatives
I did not have much of an interest for the Oscars ceremony, until I started looking at the watches... and since I have a few events coming up I went straight into the dress watch rabbit hole
Omega has been the winner of the awards in my mind, especially the De Ville Tresor (first picture) and the De Ville Prestige (second picture)
What are the alternatives I should consider if I wanted to go for a similar style?
simple three hands design (with or without date)
dark dial: blue, black or other
leather strap
ideally < 3000 USD

Yes! I think it might time for a Longines. There are actually a few models with a similar style

Raymond Weil have a couple of nice options that are under budget.
Check out Baltic, Furlan Marri, Longines, FC and Nomos.
Edit: You can grab De Ville models preowned and grey at your price point.
If you're not fussed about new, then the Aqua Terra is worth a look.
I paid £1300 for this quartz version.
Look into Longines Elegance Collection. But I would replace the bracelet with a lather strap.

Check out grand seiko models they might have something for your. My favourite dress watch of all time would be the IWC portofino but its above budget. For your budget I would get a longines:

You can get a DeVille Prestige under 3000$ without much issue. Perhaps not the latest model but certainly the older ones. Hell, I tried to sell mine, which has an 18k gold case, the other week on eBay for less than 3000$ and nobody bought it. Taking pics in natural light for a dude who was low-balling eventually made me realise how pretty it is so it isn't for sale anymore 😬

Definitely the De Ville Tresor gives me Grand Seiko vibes, although I thought they were going to be way above what I was planning to spend
The Aqua Terra is a good choice! I‘m sure it looks good too with a leather strap.
