Who’s buying the Studio Underd0g 02?

In 25 minutes the 02 is going on sale, who is buying it?

For me, I’m going to pass. I realize i can’t go after every “cute” watch, or otherwise I’m going to end up in a few years with dozen of watches that I don’t use.

Still, I like the concept, I’m sure it will do well

Hard pass from me too. Didn't like their chronograph, this is much nicer looking but still looks like a typical microbrand watch.

Wish them all the best and hope it's as successful as the last one.

There is no way I'm paying $900 for this

This is an amazing studio underdog time piece. I got the pleasure to speak with them at the watch fair in New York City this year. I love the bold design they went with for the dial and extra points for making this piece a crunchy green if I was right now in a buying face. I definitely would have to add one of their time pieces to my collection.

·

Great looking timepiece. I was hoping to catch them in NYC, but didn’t get a chance to see in person.

While it’s a great looking watch, I’ll hold off.

·

It is a good proposition and interesting design but can't get pass those two screws on the dial, function over form or not it looks way off to me and disturbs overall dial design balance

·

It's not for me

·

I love the watch but decided against it because I tend to get caught up in the hype, only to not wear them long term. I'd rather get the pieces I really want because I know I'll wear them often.

·

love a good field watch. while i already have one in my collection, this one was unique enough and funky enough to pique my interest. so yes, i ordered one. i’m really hoping it lives up to my expectations.

Same here. I’ve been looking for a simple “fun” watch for a while and the Pink Lemonade really grabbed me. Looking forward to seeing it in person!

·

They are a niche brand where you either love them or hate them. Unconventional to say the least.

·

Not a fan of the 2 screw placements. While it’s a design choice to not conceal them, it’s my choice to save the $900🤙

·

screws don't bug me, got the steffany blue on the way and a nice vintage Milanese style strap from watch gecko

·

I really struggled with this decision but decided to pass. I can always appreciate it and not buy it lol.

·

I appreciate their chronos for their unusual design (text placement) and value, but to me this range is a little too mainstream. I get the glowing dial, but it’s not as wow as the chronos, and wouldn’t be unique in my collection (I’ve got a CW Dartmouth II and a Zelos that glow like banshees). And the price is a bit steep too.

Thanks for pointing that out. I feel the same way. The screws are too distracting for me.

I really like the bold colours of the SU watches so this release was disappointing, with only one exciting colour and it's not one I would buy. They will however sell out and be a great success.

·

I was on the fence about this too! I had an alarm set when it dropped but decided against it last night and turned it off. My son woke up at 6:55 am. Gave him his bottle. Said to myself, “screw it, why not?”. My first micro brand is coming in December! Can’t wait.

·

Picked up a pink lemonade earlier!

·

This watch is growing on me and I now see the logic with the screws.

I also appreciate the use of a manual wind watch. A simple three-handed, non-date complication does not always need to be powered by an automatic movement.

This said, I've just ordered a one of Zelos's recently-trleased Swordfish field watches, so I don't need another right now, especially at $900 USD.

I really happy Studio Underd0g is doing well and this run of watches has sold out. As a watch afficionado, it's wonderful to have options, especially from smaller, imaginative companies.

·

Very impressed with this in person at wind up

·

I like SU as a brand, and I look forward to purchasing one of their pieces once one of their designs move me to depart with my $$. That being said, I really like this new dial and I like the screws as they have a practical purpose, albeit unnecessary, but owning a mechanical, or any watch is unnecessary today. SU adds a lot to the watch community with their creativity and solid watch making. Please, purchase if you love it! I would!

I was kind of undecided on the Steffany blue until around 2 hours before the end of the pre-sale window... then I told my wife about it and she said a few things (quite brutal 🤣). Called the watch a gimmick and said I'd be bored of it after a few weeks. Also said I'm not hipster enough for the watch 😂 She's did have a few points, so needless to say, I didn't order one.

And also: I made her my watch finance minister, so she should intervene if I buy a watch, instead of saving up for my Goal watch, so she's just doing her job 🤣😉

·

Incredible demand for this new watch, nearly 2,500 orders in 9 hours.

I didn't try for one but I'm delighted for them. It was always going to be really difficult to replicate the success of the Watermelon etc. It looks like he's done it again 🎯

·

I really like the watch and have love the designs of Studio Underdog. But for me trying to keep to a low number of watches, when it comes to field watches, I want it to be a little more dressy and to be able to be worn at a do and on a mountain, like the Baby Alpanist. Plus at this price point it is competing with the Alpanists and Hamiltons.

absolutely, I should get it before xmas I was in the first 500

·

While I found a majority of the design cues a bit bland, the 02 did open me up to the concept of LUME. I’d love to see or find a watch that combines an in house movement with a heavy focus on a super lumed dial.

·

Love the fact that Richard is actively searching the various selling platforms for scalpers looking to profit & subsequently cancelling their orders ❤

There were people out there that felt the increase in the price of the new design was profiteering. I think the actions I've mentioned confirm that profit isn't the only driving factor behind this brand.
