Wedding Watch?

What watch did you/would you wear to your own wedding?

I'm getting married in June and this is understandably top of mind.

I may even make a purchase between now and then to mark the special occassion...

I was fortunate to have a birth year watch that I had owned for many years. Something smaller and discreet is best IMO.

Divorced now, but wish I'd had one of Bond's gadget watches so I could have got away 🤣

This will be my wedding watch as it stands

Junghans Max Bill 😍

Depends on wedding’s dress code: if very formal, a pocket watch would be the right choice. Otherwise a slim watch, argenté dial, no date.

My date just 41

My seiko alpinist I matched it to my green august mcgregor tie

I wore a simple Tommy Hilfiger watch that my wife had given me as a pre-wedding gift haha

·

Pretty sure I wore a Tissot Classic. If you can swing it, a Cartier Santos would be 👌

This was my first major watch purchase back in 1999. A princely sum of £1,450 retail & I wore it for 20 years. It was the watch I wore when I got married for a second time in 2011.

And that’s the best watch you could’ve worn, given the provenance 😉

First of all - congrats!

My wife gave me an Omega Seamaster Pro 300M GMT (the one in my profile pic) as an engagement gift, so I of course wore that.

Your wedding watch is one that may become the most prized watch in your collection. So I’d suggest pick something that is “you,” and fits what you and your wife are wearing. Picking something that conforms to anyone else’s expectations on what “the right watch” is will only lead to regret if it doesn’t suit you.

Unless your fiancé wants you to wear a specific watch. Then go with that. 😁

If you want to get an affordable tourbillon, SEA-GULL is the best option https://seagullwatches.com/collections/tourbillon

I wore my Hamilton Boulton small seconds on a tan faux croc strap. Probably the most underrated dress watch on the market imo.

My older brother has this model and lent it to me for my wedding, I was married in my kilt. A kilt can be adjusted to be casual or full Lord Mayor (obviously i went full Lord Mayor) I didn’t have a gold watch to match my gold buttons and gold sport on chain 😁. I now have the SS model of the same watch

That Santos is in incredible condition but that wasn't the one I owned. This is the watch that I owned prior to selling it a few years ago.

I actually had work done to the watch prior to selling it & the work that was done on the dial actually had a significant detrimental effect on the selling price. If you look closely at the dial you will see a gold border around the whole of the outer parts. The watch repairers said that there was some condensation damage to the dial but they would sort this. They didn't tell me they were going to apply a gold border to do so!

I'm planning to pick up the Longines Flagship Heritage for my wedding in August.
