Which Pelagos Would You Keep?

I've been lucky enough to pick up the Pelagos 39 and the FXD in recent months and now I'm trying to decide what to do with them and am curious what you would do. Money is a factor in this decision along with what other watches could join the collection if I was only to keep one of them. I'll share more thoughts on this choice later but for now I just want to see what others think.

Ohhh sell the pelagos 39 … I’ll bite if it’s a good price with WC friendly discount lol

·

Yeah, if it means I can buy it from you, I want to change my vote to selling the 39.

·

So, there are rumors that Tudor will release a Pelagos 39 with the blue face, like your FXD, so I would wait to see if those rumors are true and then sell both and get the blue 39 if you really like the blue face. If not, then sell the FXD.

·

I think the FXD is a cooler watch, but both look pretty awesome.

·

The blue dial of the FXD is so captivating! That's the one I'd keep, on the basis of aesthetics alone. 😎

·

I voted keep the FXD as I want one badly!

I have the full fat Pelagos in black which I love. Also the PO1 which only its mother could love!

😩D: none of the above. They all get sold to pay for a nice watch.

Interesting and perhaps a bit condescending but what would you consider to be a “nice watch”?

Tissot, Longines, Christopher Ward, Omega, IWC, Breitling, Seiko, Orient, Ball, Zodiac, Glycine, Fortis, Hermes, Mido, Panerai, Sinn, Vulcain, Bell & Ross, Doxa, Rado, Porche Design, Timex, Yema, Armond Nicholette, Deep Blue, ..... You know it would be a whole lot easier to name the brands that make a shittier watch than Tudor. They had a few nice designs over the years but the quality has gone away, the service has gone away and the prices have gotten way too high for what you get.

Thanks! Have to admit that I'm leaning toward the FXD as well.

I have owned watches from a number of the brands you mentioned and there are very few that I would consider at or even near the level of the Pelagos FXD.

Nice! The black Pelagos is nice as well. I'm somewhat interested in the LHD but overall, I think I'm really liking these two cases as they are a bit thinner.

All opinions on brands are of course subjective so there are no wrong answers but I'm sure few would agree with you that Tudor don't offer value for money?

They are a premium brand and bearing that in mind I would suggest you get a lot for your money.

I'm looking of course at Rolex and lately Omega continuously raising prices.

One of the reasons Tudor sales continue to rise exponentially is their perceived value within the premium brands surely?

Yep the Pelagos is pretty tall granted. I can get away with it on my wrist but it's chunky no doubt. If it was steel it wouldn't work!

A blue 39mm Pelagos would go very high on my list. lets hope it happens.

If it were me and my skinny 6.75 inch wrist, I'd keep the Pelagos 39 and sell the FXD!

I hear you! The 39 is definitely better for smaller wrists. Doesn't help me much though because at 7.25 inches they both feel great on the wrist!

Agreed. I think that some of their QC issues, like the date wheel on the BB GMT, have raised concerns but it seems that we are seeing less of that kind of stuff. Also, part of the reason why quality issues get attention is when the market is especially fixated on what a brand has to offer.

The blue is a bit less normy
