My Journey? I only just started!

My Journey

Whats going on crunchers, I have been nominated to share my watch journey for the #1wc

I have had watches for a long time. When i was a little kid my Grandad gifted me this superman digital watch with a silicone bracelet. I dont remember wearing it all too much but its probably the first watch i have ever had. Its dead now, but it did me a great service, letting me show my preschool classmates my favorite superhero.

Even going back through my memory i dont remember having another watch until middle school. Thats when i asked my mom if i could get one on amazon. Found this for 11 bucks. It was rediculously thick and a clear gshock ripoff, but i thought i was so dang cool when i wore it.

Image

Once i realized the error of my ways i stopped wearing it and other watches entirely. Then eventually covid hit. Being extremely bored led me to start researching random things, and one day it was watches. I started with casio reviews on YouTube which eventually led me to find the Just One More Watch youtube channel. This changed everything. Jody’s videos introduced me to the world of real watches. Beforehand i never knew that there were watches that didnt run on batteries. I was enamoured and never looked back.

I asked my dad if he had any watches. He showed me a couple quartzes he had in his closet, that i have since stolen from him. I asked for a casio DBC 321 for Christmas, and a dbc 611 the next Christmas. I have bought a couple on ebay here and there, but im still looking for my first real watch, which should be soon.

Image

That’s pretty much it for now, im only 18 so i got a lot more time to continue the journey. Since there was a blunder earlier I nominate @Porthole to continue the thread and make up for it. 😂 I am posting this at 3:55 PST

Find someone who can do battery change for $7 bucks

·

Buy one of those watch tool kits and batteries in amazon. Won’t set you back more than $35.

It’s one of those “give a fish/teach someone to fish” scenarios.

·

Nice start of a collection you have there.

I have one too, one of the most retro watches in my collection

I love your collection! And the the history! Your Grandfather and Dad are obviously outstanding! Honor them with your Youth and go the distance! You're up against a bunch of Cruncher's going through withdrawals not being able to post a new watch. Most of them are old 25+&feeble!🙄😂

So wear them down! 😂

I feel that Casio is the only brand which can bring smile to each and every person whether he/she is financially rich/poor or they belong in teenage/middle age/old-age. Doesn't it??

All your watches are real — that Superman one being the most real — I had a starwars one in 1980
