Thank you / Another spot? / Collection

First off, I wanted to thank this community... A couple of the watches in this collection were inspired by a poll I posted last year. So, this is where I'm currently at, and I have a watch about to sell (not pictured here) which creates a spot. I have a few watches in mind that have been on my list for a bit (Farer Stanhope, Traska Venturer, Laco, Seiko Speedtimer, etc), but I wanted to gather a few additional "affordable" recommendations. Also feels like I could use a little color? Thanks again!

Current Collection:

Brew Retrograph / Baltic Aquascaphe / Jupiter Moonswatch / Seiko SNXS79 / Halios Universa / G-shock / Hamilton Khaki Field

Looks Good to me! That’s an all rounder collection!! …

·

Möels would look good in there and could add some colour. There are even more new colours than shown here.

I like your thought on the Farer. That's where I'd go next (if I didn't already have one).

yeah, honestly it has been on my list the longest... which one do you have?

Lander Midnight. Love it.

I have the stanhope. I recently had an issue with the winding action, and Farer sent me a shipping label no questions asked. It later turned out to be ok, so I didn't send it, but it was good to know that their 5 yr warranty is solid.

I agree with adding color and/or add a slim dress watch to the collection. A Junghans Max Bill, maybe? I also REALLY like the Möels suggested by @Davemcc

I liked the Möels design instantly but I can attest to quality of the build now that I have one in our collection.

Amazing collection.

Keep traveling around the world. You've got watches from America, Canada, France, Switzerland and Japan. The Farer you want would be British and the Laco German. Solid choices that continue the horological geography.

I love all your watches here, great collection!

Aside from that, are you happy with the Stanhope? Does it wear nice?

I'm very happy with the Stanhope II. It's build quality is solid, I think the styling doesn't really shine until you hold it in your hands. Aside from the odd crown thing, I've had no issues. I love to wear it when I'm drawing. If you love the neo-vintage look, I think you'll love it too.

Farer are the kings of color!!! 🌈

Those are cool, and what an interesting brand! Funny, after just going through the microbrand tournament, I like Möels more than any brand I met in the tourney. Not quite ready to pull the trigger on one yet, but definitely bookmarked and looking forward to what they do next. Thanks for including them here...

Any recommendations?

Overall its a well respectable collection you nailed it good!

If I am not mistaken those are latest Crown and Buckle two-piece nylon watch strap. Would you recommend them?

Looking at your collection I would say that the three gaps that I observe are:

  1. A flieger - and you mention Laco and adding colour so a nice blue Aachen (guessing 39 rather than 42 based on your collection) might build out the collection.

  2. A tool dive watch - something on a bracelet with a dive bezel but with a more modern and chunky look than the Baltic. Given your apparent size preferences and the point about colour I would suggest looking at the Zelos titanium offerings - I think the Swordfish 40 is still available in green but the colorful offerings of the Spearfish and Swordfish seem mostly sold out. There are heaps of other choices out there e.g. Armida do some great colours for the A1 (38 or 42) but in stainless steel not titanium so a bit hefty on the wrist.

  3. A pure dress watch. I’m not a dress watch fan (would wear one so rarely and I have an “heirloom” Omega for that) and would happily wear a few of your current collection on such occasions. But for a pure dress watch consider the Orient Bambino range which would compliment you collection without breaking the bank. My personal favourite is the blue (see ref later) but they don’t yet do that as a 38mm - FAC0000DD0

  4. Be a little careful as I have filled out my collection too much! And when I look at it now there are a handful of watches that I could happily live without now their novelty has worn off - and collectively the money spent there would go a very long way towards a grail watch. Now I know I can recoup some of it via eBay but if I had my time again I wouldn’t have bought them. Not deep regrets just life lessons … hence the heads up.

Have fun, be patient and enjoy the research and the quest which is a big part of the fun.

Just saw you were previously considering the SSK. The orange one would both add colour and cover off the tool watch bit - I know it’s a GMT bezel not a dive bezel but the look is the same esp. if you’re not going diving!
