Buying my first Grand Seiko sbgp009 vs sbgx263?

Considering to buy my first ever GS from Chrono24 from Japan. Can someone please, explain me the main difference between these two models? Is it worth the extra cost? That sbgx263 is GORGEOUS!!!

I have a 18cm wrist the white and black of both modals are nice, but i like the champaign dial it gives it an luxurious look and feel.

Maybe any other suggestions are welcome too.

sbgx23g 37mm watch

sbgp009g 40mm watch

Champagne is a good choice.

Different sizes, as noted above.

Don't miss the 44gs version, for deep GS heritage https://www.grand-seiko.com/us-en/collections/sbgp001g

Is there any major difference except the size of the watch?

Is it just me or does GS look familiar?

7.25 before lunch after lunch 7.55 ish … kidding aside… I feel in my opinion only that the bigger champagne dial gives you more of a wow factor with this watch!! And I get lost staring at it more…

Hmm tough choice I really love BOTH and people usually tend to go for the black, white or blue. But IMHO that champaign dial gives it a more luxury look and feel.

Yes I like sakurawatches but the price is like $300-400 USD more on average in comparison to Chrono24 sellers. I also have to pay additional tax for EU somewhere about 25% extra that would be pretty expensive. Checking out some professional dealers there hoping for a good deal.

Yes unfortunately this means I would have to pay 25% on top of the $1950 USD.

You are aware there are MANY seiko models that predate rolex as a company.....

The 37mm sbgx263 is on my wish list! That being said, I have a 40mm Spring Drive already, so that is why. I find myself wanting the different GS movements...I have the GMT and Spring Drive, want to get the quartz and the Hi Beat. The champagne is stunning, posted this sbgx263 yesterday:

To answer the question, not much difference. They both have the same movement. One is a little bigger and has a champagne dial, it's probably a touch more expensive just due to materials cost.

The 44GS case version has the newer 9F movement with the “jump hour” so you can do your DST/standard time changes without hacking the movement.

just perfect

I have the SGBX263, I also have an 18cm wrist. It's down to your preference in case size really. The SGBX263 wears like a 37mm & I think it's really well suited to being a smaller watch. It's very elegant & understated.

I have recently purchased the Baltic MR01 which is a 36mm and i like the size. So the 37mm would be perfect

Yep, I'm sure you'll have no problem enjoying wearing the SGBX263 then. I have to say that it's the most beautiful watch that I own. It's very like my Rolex OP 36mm silver dial but I find the GS a cut above that.

+1 for SGBX263. In no way inferior to an automatic watch. Any time that directional light hits the markers or hands, it's just magical!

·

There is definitely a slightly different aesthetic to the two different cases. I'll try to snap a pick of the SBGP005 and the SBGN013 (similar to the SBGX cases) this eve. The 44GS case (the SBGP's) is definitely dressier and bolder with its super flat sizable lugs. Both have their merits, but personally to me the 44GS case is really special.
