From Collecting to Refining: My First Seiko Alpinist SPB197J1

After months of searching, I finally found an affordable Seiko Alpinist SPB197J1 in perfect condition, and just in time for my upcoming birthday next Monday! They are nearly impossible to find elsewhere or are being sold for 1200/1300+ euros.

This is my first Alpinist and a field watch. My collection is shrinking, but now I truly prioritize quality over quantity within my budget.

I once started with the idea of collecting as many watches as possible, but ultimately, you only wear 3 or 4 out of the 12, and the rest just gather dust.

I want to expand my collection with a yellow Doxa 200 and a Grand Seiko SBGX263, and then I'll start saving for my all-time favorite, a Grand Seiko Shunbun.

Cheers 🙂

That looks stunning. I thought that one had a cyclops. So the JDM is a bit different? Also the beads of rice 💯

@yankthemike Actually, the cyclops has been removed, and the bracelet is from Uncle Seiko. Thank you very much
