Less people know that Junghans had his ups and heavy downs. There was a time when Junghans offerd his quartz watches very cheap in small cardboard pakages at department stores. But they survived and came back out of the ashes. This was a model back of that time which I bought as a student 12 years ago for 120 Euro. It was my first watch payed by my student job.
What I designed and bought from San Martin as a novelty has turned out to be my most worn watch lately - can't beat the quality, comfort, and legibility for its price and, if I didn't worry about folks thinking I was trying to play it off as a real Tudor, would probably wear it more.
All of my Tandorio watches from AliExpress are less than $100 each, even the bronze and titanium cases, and some are substantially less than $100. I love 'em all! Wearing one today.
Here's my cheapest beater. It was originally listed as the 'rugged digi chrono' but I think now it's called the 'champion' in metallic colors. Clearance price was $5 at my local Mega-lo-mart.

Actually nothing to be ashamed of

But seriously…
All my watches are beaters.
This is my most recent #cardivostok Racingtime GP from Ukraine:
Hey! Those screws on the Ellesse align! Even Hublot could not manage that.
But seriously…
Ah ha. So that is how a PRX would look with a big bezel. Nice.
This bad boy was only 65$!! Nh35 with a crazy double domed crystal - I also have two timex’s that I just love - nothing wrong with the cheapies
It’s my outside/inside jobs, grass cutting and fishing partner - great beater
A beautiful Yema quartz dress watch from the early 2000s. Bought it for 4 bucks.
Citibank gave my father a watch when he opened a credit card account in the 90s. He's purging his collection so he gave it to me. So pretty much free.
These two are the cheapest both in price and quality from my collection.
I have a 20 year old Fossil blue
Very cheap watch from Amazon and my only square (or rectangle).

How long until Tissot makes a PRX GMT?

The GMT part would be easy. It could take a while to figure out how to put a waffle pattern on the bezel insert.
Love your Ellesse! This was my old one from the 90s, now used by my 14yo son.
My favorite not-too-hellish homage. A Benyar with an automatic Seagull movement at $40. Too fun!
What do you define as “cheap”?
For me, under £50
Man, that's exactly what I've been thinking this last couple of days! That's good to hear from someone else!
Nice watch by the way, I wouldn't say it's cheap!
It cost £80 about 25 years ago so not too expensive by today's standards, although it felt like a lot of money then.
Yeah, that's a good question.. I think it's more about the construction and materials used, rather then the price of the watch itself, right?
Purely the price

Great score for that yema

This is my #wruw for today. 😁 Less than $80.
I have The Great Wave as a tattoo!
How's $12 (shipped) for a manual wind that actually keeps good time? HMT Janata.

I think these three qualify.
Two Casios and a Timex on clearance at Wal Mart.
One was a gift as a female watch.
I have The Great Wave as a tattoo!
If I squint I can see just a bit of yinyang inspiration.

Guilty as charged!
I got this refurbished Oris on eBay for $45. Pretty good shape, keeps great time.
My late Dad's quartz Sekonda.
This is currently the cheapest in my collection.... picked it up for £26 and added a strap 😁
