from a diversity perspective in the collection that would make sense. But I dont think I can part with my baby alpinist. Also I kind of realized that I dont really need a diverse collection with watches for every situation. The truth is I am not a diver. if I need to time anything I can use my phone and if I need a different time zone honestly that I can do in my head.
So the whole point of my watches is just me enjoying them and I think I would be most likely enjoying my baby alpinist more than the chrono.
Also nobody ever has complained about people wearing a field watch to a formal event. Heck people wear Apple Watches with suits now it doesn't matter anymore.
Thats kinda my thought process behind the whole collecting thing but I get that you are going for a balanced collection.
okay wow I had never given it that much thought but It does make sense the way you explain it. Honestly im not a big fan of the GMT-Master II. If Rolex, then my choice would be the Explorer II.
And what I liked about the Traska besides the mind-blowing specs was its Design which is taking from classic designs but somehow managing to be vintage inspired original. And everything down to the width of each lug itself feels so well thought through.
if there is any that would be my plan. I just have difficulties letting go especially after you developed an emotional bond with a watch after a year or two.
I guess I am broke because I have fairly nice things 😅.
But here you go these are my two Italians (Pavoni and Eureka) I really cherish. The pavoni has been handed down to me by my parents as they appreciate good coffee aswell and needed something with a bigger capacity. It has been in the family for almost 30 years and Is certainly older than me.
Thank you very much. sometimes I feel the baby alpinist is almost a little small when it's on a strap.
My first watch was a g-shock and the first one I bought when I got into collecting was the 42mm Seiko sport so I think that's why I went towards smaller watches to change it up. Also I love that the baby alpinist is fairly thin, has an interesting dial, the 70hr PR and 200 m WR. Its a real spec monster and as a little watch geek I can appreciate that.
