DW-6900 and DW-5600

Which one is your favorite?

I could not choose, so I bought both.

I like the 1980s design of DW-5600, and the size is perfect for me. DW-6900 buttons are easier to push, especially when using the stopwatch function. I also like the three circular dial in the 6900, which is fun to watch.

Both are great. It depends on which shape you like more and which one wears better in your wrist. I would go with the 5600

·

I seldom need to push any buttons, hands down on square any day 👋🏻

·

Definitely  a square for me. There are so many 5600 that I can't  devide which I would go for, more than likely the blackout. Solid purchases either way, kudos on your new Casio's!

·

I much prefer the square G Shocks myself, and the GWM5610 is my daily beater.

Thanks! Actually, I bought these last year, so it is not so new. (My English is sometimes not correct.)

6900 all the way. It is still one of the most original and perfect digital watch designs in my opinion. I have and love the original Japanese "firefox" version with gold lcd. They don't fit my wrist very well though 😂

·

I think that the 5600 is more timeless

GWM5610 looks similar to the first gshock DW-5000C, and I like the red square line in the dial!

No worries! Your English is great! I assumed you had recently gotten them, so that was my mistake.

I like the looks of the 6900, but the 5600 will display the time of day while using the stopwatch.  For me, that is pretty handy.

I heard that Japanese version used to be made in japan until few years ago. I think gold lcd improves the legibility of the dial than DW-6900-1V, the global market version.

part of the special appeal of the firefox is that it's made in Japan. That would be sad if it is no longer Japanese made. I have both the global market version and the firefox and the legibility on the gold lcd is slightly more crisp. The blue and red "eyes" on the international make it a little more "fun" than the firefox which has 3 gold eyes

6900 also display the current time while using the stopwatch. But I think 5600’s display has more room to show the current time and stopwatch.

DW-5600 all the way for me, if a G-Shock ever found its way into the collection it would be this one. Kudos on having both though! 👍

·

I have a square and love it but I use to have a DW-6900 and miss it. The DW-6900 has a nostalgia factor for me as that was a watch younger me wore daily. Anyway I'm like you and can't decide which I prefer. Excuse me I need to go price out a DW-6900 lol

Good catch!  Sorry, I was mixing up my GW-6900 with your DW-6900.  For some reason they removed that functionality on the GW.  Obviously I need a DW-6900!

5600 all day. the simplicity of the square lets you wear with with whatever

·

My puny wrist says Square. :)

·

5600 definetly. i wear it on job so it makes it my most used watch in collection.
square definetly

·

Both are great but the classic square for me

·

Both are winners!!

I agree. 5600 wears fine with long sleeve shirt also.

·

Square is the best for sure. It fits more types of wrists, isn’t bulky, and doesn’t look like it is staring at you. I don‘t really need massive buttons to push either. My DW5600RB-2 is perfect for me.

·

5600 series is the one for me....it fits my wrist perfectly and its profile fits all activity....may it be leisure or work

I totally agree with you. I wear 5600 everyday!

·

I have the 5600 because it wears better on my slim wrist. I think they both look great, but I kinda think the looks are like comparing a complication watch to a time only watch. One has beauty in simplicity while the other grabs your attention with the extra bells & whistles

·

In my personal experience they are both great. Good for you for having both of them.

I own the DW5600 and it is the perfect for all-occasions; at home, work, sports, or just hanging out and about. It is a great "casual" watch. The 5600 is greatly favorited by practically all G-Shock lovers because it is considered the quintessential G-Shock; descendant from the original model. Every G-Shock collection has to have it.

I don't own the 6900 (yet), but I own it's predecessor, the discontinued 6600, issued to me by the military. The 6900 is perfect mostly for outdoors and "wild" situations.

I recommend them both, especially their military's versions, the DW5600MS and the DW6900MS; check them out. I gifted a 5600MS to law enforcement official and I recommended both of them to a father looking to gift his son with a good watch to use at basic military training.

I did not know that gshock had a military version you mentioned! I do not have 6600, but I like the design of the square display. I wish Casio will reissue that model.

·

The squares are my favorite. If I had to choose b/t the two, the 5600 is the one for me.

·

I already have a gshock square and I’ve been wanting a dw6900 as well so I love them both 😁
